Description
This illustrated book is like an extended greeting card of comfort, support, and courage, reminding those who are struggling that they are not alone in their trials. The core of the author’s message begins with a promise from God and three words that every Christian is familiar with—“He is risen.”
“Those three words are more than a headline,” says the author. “They are a promise. Because He is risen, we too shall rise again. Every child of God has moments when it feels as if a giant rock has been rolled in front of our path. You may feel emotionally whipped by winds beyond your control. You may be thinking your own saving miracle is too far away to lean on. If you feel alone, in the dark, or powerless, remember that rising again doesn’t need to wait until body and soul reunite. HE IS RISEN so we can rise . . . TODAY.”

This book has words of encouragement and the words of god to read and reminded us that Jesus is there for us if we ask
This was a quick read. The advise was good and simple. It's a picture book and in the Kindle format didn't come across as well as a physical copy probably does.
This is a short, but inspiring and impactful read. It is thought provoking and can be read aloud and shared with others. Its message applies to many people of various age groups. It is uplifting with nice illustrations and is easy to read and understand. It would be better to read in person with the illustrations and book format a little bit better for what the book is intended to be. I did think it ended a little abruptly- I thought it was going to be a little bit longer or expand more, but I think it's still nice for what it is.
Inspirational, but very very short. I wish it was longer! I enjoyed it and found the writing to be beautiful.

An inspirational book about rising above the meses in our life. Remembering to rise above and look to our Savior, is good remnder, no matter our age.
A book for inspiration and encouragement. The author reminds us that Christ is on our side and we can lean on him. The suggestions are simple and meaningful; pray, read God’s word, listen to sacred music, worship and give service. It also has simple colorful illustrations. This is a short book. The description say it is 32 pages but on my device it is only 16. It is similar in format to the author’s book on grief published August 2022. Thank you to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for an early look with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Rise Today by Jason F. Wright is a hope in itself. Every page is a thought that purifies one’s soul. The message is of belief. Believing in God and Christ. As soon as the reader starts reading, he finds himself in a momentous rhythm of peace and purity. It’s very accurate to say that if any thought, action, word, or incident has taken you down, you must open this beautiful book and read it.
Jason’s words on every page counsel the readers. Help them in the best way possible. The graphical representation uplifts the book and encourages the reader to pay attention to what is being said on every leaf of it. The level of motivation leaves the reader smiling over the positivity in every line. The sentences are short and the language is simple. The author’s skill to deliver the thought on every page in a few lines is well appreciated.
The emphasis on believing in God and Christ in times when everything seems dark and there is no hope is the basic theme of the whole book. It is very much recommended for a general audience. The youth can especially take a lot of motivation and positivity in their lives by going through the book. It can be a source for young readers to see life from a brighter perspective. It may change their lives for good. I appreciate how Jason opened up in the last few pages of the book. It’s very moving. The book has left me mesmerized. I want to read more.
Simple yet powerful. It made me feel connected to God on a deeper level and the art was breathtaking.

This book was a very quick read, as it's done mostly like an inspirational picture book. However, it was a really nice read about rising up in Christ and becoming closer to Him. I really enjoyed the messages in this book and felt uplifted after reading it. The artwork was very pretty, too, and went well with the book's words.
The last few pages in the book had some more in-depth experiences and advice from the author about becoming closer to Christ through prayer, scripture study, listening to music, worshipping with others, and service. While these were also pretty quick reads, they were nice insights and I enjoyed reading them.
Overall, it was a good book to read for quick spiritual inspiration abd I would definitely read it again.
A beautiful, short book for any person who considers themselves a part of a Christian-based faith. I loved the personal experiences—they were to the point and made an impact. And I really loved the idea that resurrection, rising with Christ, can begin TODAY.
Rise Today is a short, inspirational book to encourage readers to rise above life's challenges with the hopeful promise that Jesus has risen, and therefore, we will too. Color illustrations on each spread add to the presentation. The book is written in short prose and gave me the impression of a long greeting card. The author notes at the end include steps to take to help readers 'rise', such as prayer, surrendering our sorrow, reading God's Word, etc.
This was an uplifting and empowering change of perspective that perfectly sums up God’s love for us.
Recently, I haven’t loved religious books that seem to shove doctrine down your throat, so to say. There are multiple factors that have influenced that feeling, but one thing I enjoyed about this book was the fact it only added to my testimony or reminded me of important doctrine I’ve forgotten over the years.
Jason wrote in a way that any page you turn to, you’d receive an uplifting thought or principle to focus on, or you could read it in one go and leave with a stronger awareness of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ’s love.
I particularly liked the section about sacred music. That specific topic was one I could relate to and apply often.
Basically, it’s a short and sweet reminder of God’s love and one that gives hope for all of us to rise.
A beautiful little book to add some sunshine and motivation for your day. I love how uncomplicated the message of this book is: life is hard, but God gives us tools to pick ourselves up and keep going. I especially loved the pages at the end of the book that outlined some of the ways the author found helped him to get through tough times. I could see myself sitting down and reading this one with my family. The beautiful illustrations and concise message makes it appropriate and adaptable to all ages.
Very quick read. I think I read it in 30 minutes. This is a faith picture book for adults, although it could also be used for teens/youth as well. I did wish it was a little more in-depth of a book, which I expected from the title, but still it was uplifting and positive with a strong message of trust and faith in the Lord. Because it is so short, it is one that would be easy to grab when you need a pick-me-up and a reminder of putting faith in God or just a positive read on a hard day or on a relaxing Sunday. It could also be used a nice gift for someone who could be struggling as a quick pick-me-up for others as well.
These type of books are pretty hit and miss for me, but I really liked this one. The message that we can rise today because Christ is risen just really hit me; it just made me think about things a little differently. I also really liked the illustrations, particularly the connection between the rocks in our lives and the rock that sealed Christ's tomb only to be rolled away. The ideas of things we can do to rise today were simple and not original but still heartfelt and a a good reminder of ways we can work to overcome the trials in our lives. This would be a great gift book to give this Easter.
4 stars.
I read an eARC provided by the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Rise Today: Trusting God and His Promise by Jason F. Wright is a small book with a powerful message of love and hope. Every one of us needs something to lighten our load in life. This book is a quick way to encourage you every day. I like how easy and fast it was to read. Even though it's a message I've heard before, it was a reminder I needed to practice my faith in the Savior's promise of blessings that will come by living a Christ-Centered life.
I've recently been hit with the loss of my mom and a really good friend within a week of each other. This message of the gift of the resurrection that will come to us is so comforting right now. I also loved the message that we don't have to wait until the "BIG" resurrection to rise and feel hope, we can Rise Today to feel Christ's love in our lives. I was truly inspired by this book and I know anyone of any age will feel the same.
Sweet and inspiring read.
Just a quick read about how we can use our faith and relationship with Jesus Christ to overcome, as well as service and music. This would be a great book for a teens Easter basket.
Thank you Netgalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
A quick pick me up and reminder that the atonement is applicable now. We don't have to wait for it to be a help in our daily lives.
“Rising again doesn’t need to wait until body and soul reunite. He is risen so we can rise…today.” This thoughtful, quick read, inspirational book gave me some definite food for thought. I’d never thought about Christ’s resurrection quite this way before. It’s something I always looked forward to when I die. This book made me realize it can impact my life now.
In just 19 pages, Jason F. Wright shares helpful insights any Christian would appreciate into how Christ’s resurrection can help us now. It’s a great pick me up for anyone who is struggling or in need of some inspiration. It’s also a great Easter gift. I loved the artwork and the helpful suggestions at the end for ways we can “rise” including: prayer, reading God’s word, listening to sacred music, worshiping together, and service.
It’s a beautiful picture book I’d recommend for both adults and teens. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own and I was not required to provide a positive review.
This is a short, helpful, religious book. We all go through difficult times in life but are reminded that Christ is willing to move the rock in our path and won’t leave our side. Also, that the more we care for other people’s needs, the more we will feel God caring for ours. Topics include prayer, reading God’s word, listening to sacred music as part of your daily routine, worshiping with others, and service.
I like the uplifting thoughts and helpful suggestions. I was expecting it to be a little longer, but the short length makes for a perfect gift, especially for Easter. Thanks to Shadow Mountain Publishing and NetGalley for a temporary digital copy to use for my review.
Rise Today is a beautifully illustrated and written book by Jason F. Wright. Rise Today reminds the reader what Jesus did for and that He is Risen. Rise Today is an encouraging book. If you are needing a encouraging and inspiring book, then I highly recommend Rise Today. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.
I love the Easter message of this little book by Jason Wright!
It's a reminder that we each can choose every day to be a little better, stand a little taller or help someone a little more. And I think that's important. At this time of year, and every time of year.
I loved that the author specifically gives five suggestions you can use to be a little better. One of the things he mentions is listening to sacred music. I know when I'm having a bad day a hymn can make me feel better.
I love the illustrations in this book. They are just beautiful. And they add so much to the book.
This is one little book you won't want to miss!
I was sent an e-copy of this book as a gift from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Such an inspirational little book! Great for gifting to someone in need of a spiritual uplifting. Definitely recommend! It really gave me something to think on. How can I improve my spiritual walk with God?
I will also be interested in checking out other books from Jason Wright. This one was an absolute pleasure. And it has cute illustrations too!!
This is a uplifting quick read. I enjoyed the thoughts. It would make a good gift for someone who needed a quick inspiring message. It can be read over and over.
This is a super-quick, uplifting book. Booklet? It can easily be read in less than an hour. If you need a spiritual pick-me-up, this is an easy one to go to. You can read the entire book, or just pick one section, depending on what you're dealing with at the time. Service? Uplifting music? Prayer? Worship? It's all in there. It isn't a deep dive into any of these subjects, but just a quick reminder to focus on what really matters.
am not the best student when it comes to my spiritual growth. Jason Wright has written a great reminder of strengthening my relationship with the Savior. This small book gives "small and simple" reminders of things I can do to improve that relationship.
