The author shares his own personal experiences and insights, as well as practical strategies and tools, to help listeners overcome their own FUD and achieve their goals. The narration is clear and engaging, making the book a pleasure to listen to. I would highly recommend this audiobook to anyone looking to boost their confidence and reach their full potential.
This is my first 5-star review on Netgalley, and this book deserves it. I didn't know how much I needed this book until I clicked play on the audio. I would recommend this book to anyone who finds themselves in a slump or needs to jump start their career. It really gives great insights and amazing tips on how to lead and how to be a fearless leader. The author shares his own personal experiences and insights as well as those of others who are at the top of their game and how they got there. I particularly loved the story he shared of Mr. Disney himself, and how his road to success was not as easy as we would think. I always thought he was fed the silver spoon and Disney World just materialized out of magic, but I found out that his perseverance and conquering his FUD led him to achieving his goals. Once I started listening to this audiobook, I literally could not stop! I took it everywhere with me, on the trail, at the gym, to the store, even whilst relaxing in a bath. The author did an amazing job! Through sharing his experience and insights., this book inspires one to overcome their own FUD. The narration is amazingly clear and highly engaging! It was a book I did not want to ever end and one that I plan to read again and again. This book is great at any stage of your life whether you are just starting out, have been promoted to a new managerial role, a CEO at a big company or managing a book club. It offers great tools and practical and tactical strategies to help readers conquer their FUD, boost their confidence and achieve their goals. This book is a must have on your bookcase, iPhone or kindle! It is definitely a book you will want to revisit again and again throughout the stages of your life! I 100% endorse purchasing this book! You will be happy you did!
Thank you so much to Netgalley, Bredan P Keegan and Forbes Books for allowing me to read this ARC, for an honest review.
Everyone...in in any industry has to deal with fear, uncertainty, and doubt. The author provides solid principles for dealing with all three. If the reader is familiar with writers like Lewis Hoes or Brendon Burchard, they will appreciate the flow this text.
A good foundation for people who lead and manage people. Much of it was common sense practices which I feel is already what I do but his reinforcement of why was good. I think it is most effective to have the author narrate these types of books because they have proven to be talented and successful so why not be the one presenting it to us as well. It’ll be interesting to see if this new release will be on some desks at my company soon. I decided to download the ebook as well as a reference tool.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity in exchange for an honest review.
I'm always looking to learn and grow, so when this came to me curtesy of NetGalley I had to dive in. I really enjoyed the listen. On the whole the narration was pretty good. I liked that it was somewhere between, conversational and that college professor you really liked. The only complaint I have was some of the "voices" he used for different people kinda grated a little, but overall, not to the point I wouldn't listen again. I also know that's got to be hard to do.
I think Keegan did a great job in reiterating that FUD was Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt, without over doing it. I have read or listened to books that had a Catch Phrase but when it was all said and done, you couldn't remember what it actually stood for. Not the case here. I also liked Keegan's use of both positive and negative examples. He also drew from others' stories which were mostly all positive examples. If you wonder if this is a Keegan, "look how great I am," book, let me say it is NOT.
There was one really tiny section that was some math formulas that was totally lost on me. I should say, I usually listen to audios on my rather long commute, and so I don't do much rewinding and searching while listening. So, if I had gone back and listened to that section again perhaps, I would have understood it. However, as it was things were rocking along and then it seemed like we had several algebraic equations out of nowhere and I didn't understand the point he was trying to convey. This book, like most, focuses on leadership in the privet sector. For most readers or listeners that's probably perfect. However, if you work in a government institution, some of these stories just won't hit home, because well it's the government and that's just not how it works. However, there is still a bunch of great information. It WILL make you a better leader but probably won't propel you to the top like in the private sector. Definitely worth the read/ listen!
There are only a handful of self-help books that I’ve ever rated 4 or 5 stars. Conciseness and simple presentation of information are what made this an enjoyable read. About the only thing I wish had been different was a short summary of key points at the end of each chapter.
As with all such books, it’s stuff you should already know, but probably stopped doing at some point or don’t do as well as well as you should be. A few actionable steps but most of it is high-level white collar career advancement.
