I thought it was cute how the robot learns about money, what it is, how it looks, what it is for. A difficult concept was nicely presented for young readers.
This is a great educational tool to aid in teaching children about money .
Based on the PBS series Wimee ‘s World , Wimee receives a paper gift from his grandmother but does not know what it is . So Wimee and friends learn from their neighbor what money is and how to earn it.
The guide in the back in the book is also a great teaching tool for teachers and parents alike .
I just reviewed Wimee Learns About Money by Stephanie Kammeraad. #WimeeLearnsAboutMoney #NetGalley
I received an electronic ARC from Zonderkidz through NetGalley.
Wimee gets a birthday present from his grandmother and doesn't know what the green pieces of paper are. He seeks out his friends, Moby and Siblee, to see if they can help him. Readers journey along as they, along with another friend, Sylvia, learn from Mr. Bill. I appreciate the author teaching about saving, spending and giving for a balanced approach to money management. She shares the information at a level younger readers will understand. They learn about earning money, spending money, saving some and saving some to give. The characters are familiar to those who watch Wimee's Words but readers will connect to them as as stand alone book as well. The artwork is brightly colored and pulls readers in to learn more.
Wimee Learns about Money is Finance 101 for kids! I absolutely love this! Wimee gets some money from his grandmother for a special occasion. He goes on a quest to understand what these strange green papers are, and he learns all about bills and coins. He learns that you can earn money or receive it as a gift. He also learns that he can spend it, save it, or give it. I really appreciate that saving and giving are included in this little primer for kids. These are important concepts that are often overlooked in personal finance!
The illustrations in this book are fun, and the message is so important for our kids. Start teaching responsible money management from a young age! So much fun!
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!
