Description

Get ready to laugh! Get ready to tap your toes! Get ready to be entertained and uplifted—and to gain a deeper love for JESUS—while taking a fresh look at what it means to “love your neighbor” and to “turn the other cheek” (not that one, you nitwit!).

Symphony of Life: A Musical Retelling of The Good Samaritan mostly tells the story of Joel, a corrupt tax collector who’s in desperate need of a swift kick in the pants. But there’s also a cadre of irate marketplace vendors all vying to be the one to deliver the humbling blow; a spunky, young widow who wishes she had more than two pitiful mites to cast into the offering box at the temple treasury; a pair of star-crossed lovers; a perfectly poisonous person masquerading as a beautiful maiden, a murder of featherless crows; a constipated mule; and a Samaritan who is…well, good.

INNOVATIVE! ~ INTERACTIVE! ~ INSPIRING!

What began as a Broadway-style stage production in the spirit of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is now both an illustrated novella with links to fifteen original songs (arranged by Emmy-award-winning composer, Kurt Bestor) embedded within the narrative of this unique biblical re-imagining and a lively audiobook!

Will the taxman have a change of heart or get what deserves? He definitely has it coming!

“Suzette Bruggeman has put a modern twist on a timeless truth - love your neighbor as yourself! The musical interludes are outstanding, and her gripping lyrics stir both spirit and emotion…The true genius is in the storytelling that pulls from multiple New Testament passages and weaves them into a coherent story of life, love, and forgiveness. Her creative narrative rivals the stories portrayed in the TV series, The Chosen.” - Mark Morgan, US Army Chaplain (Colonel)

"This wonderful, uplifting book—sprinkled with amusing modern humor—sparked and renewed a desire in me to love others as Jesus does. The musical score and vocals are truly Broadway-worthy…As soon as you start listening, you will be captivated and unable to stop!” - Nikki Carter, Music Director, Berean Baptist Church

“Symphony of Life is an entertaining story with amazing music that shows how faith in Jesus changes lives. It is so very well written. I rank it right up there with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I would encourage everyone to listen to it! I promise you will be entertained and inspired to be better.” - Kathy Hiatt, Episcopal Deacon.
