Thank you so much to Thomas Nelson and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
Horton likes to read monster stories at night but then he hears a scary noise, he tumbles into Figgy and she heard scary noises too. Together they search for the monster and learn it wasn’t quite what they thought.
Absolutely adorable, what a perfect book to teach about being scared, that sometimes a thing that seems really scary or a noise that you don’t recognise can end up being something that doesn’t seem to be what you thought.
I really enjoyed how the two friends didn’t suspect each other, but wanted to help each other until something scared them both and suddenly they realised the monster wasn’t what they thought. I really loved how the monster brought them together and they became really great friends.
The illustrations were really beautiful and I loved looking at them, they matched the story so perfectly. I really enjoyed reading this one and think it’s a brilliant story to read with young children, especially for night time when things are scarier and you don’t always know what everything is.
Cute illustrations and story. An owl and a pig figure out who the monster is they’ve been hearing and fearing. Fun book.
Showing that we make our selves frighten by our own misconception.
