Description

“When we’re dating, you are mine. Even if it’s fake.”

I thought my luck was about to change when my best friend found me an apartment to sublet in the heart of Nashville, TN. As an aspiring singer, this is where I need to be in order to finally get discovered. I’m ready to start my new life until I discover my new neighbor is none other than Stone Walker.

Super Bowl winning, NFL receiver.

Stone cold fox.

My high school crush.

And my brother’s ex-best friend—emphasis on the ex.

I know I should probably tuck tail and run, but I don’t. If Stone can handle this new living arrangement then so can I. Besides, neighbors don’t have to talk to each other. Until my best friend comes up with a plan. I should fake date Stone. After all, I have the talent, the drive, and the music. All I need is the visibility.

And Stone has that in spades.

I thought he would reject the plan, but he’s surprisingly on board. Now he’s showing up at my gigs with flowers and kisses me until my head spins and my knees go weak. And when he scores a touchdown and dances just for me? I want this relationship to be real. But falling in love wasn’t part of the agreement. Stone walked way from our family once and I don’t think I’m strong enough for him to do it again.

Read Lucky Charm, a fake dating, football star/singer romance and fall in love today!

This was such a sweet romance! I loved the depth in it by how Stone and Emerson both had to overcome family issues. It kept me interested throughout. The lucky charms were so sweet. I was able to relate with both main characters which helped my stay intrigued to find out what would happen in the end. Love love loved it!

Stone and Emerson are a cautionary tale! Do not fall for the daughter of the family who hates you is what runs through Stones mine as he fled his hometown. When fate brings them together again Stone isn’t so sure he can heed the warning anymore!

Stone now has everything he’s always wanted but the one thing missing just moved in across the hall and when Emerson needs his help the yes from his mouth is immediate!

Lucky Charm is such a heartwarming story and I loved the dynamic between these two! They both had a lot to make up for and needed to face answers and truths they weren’t ready for but for the next step in life to happen they had to face it all head on!

Stone was so sweet and truly had a heart of gold. He was definitely not a playboy. Emerson was a soft spoken woman who had so much to say she just needed the chance! Very beautiful story about forgiveness and forever!

Lucky Charm is about former friends turned acquaintances that started a fake relationship. Stone and Emmerson have known each other for most of their lives but have a falling out when the story first begins. It is very sweet novel. The story was a little rushed at times.

Beautifully written! I couldn't put the book down! I adore how Anne-Marie has the ability to get the reader to become so engaged in Stone & Emerson! I did not want the book to end. I wanted MORE!

Anne-Marie has once again wrote a book I couldn't put down! I read the book in one go. I do wish the book was a little longer so we could see their relationship develop a little more (I love a slow burn) and have a resolution with her family (good or bad). Hopefully we'll get to see more if she turns it into a series.

Definitely a great easy read!

I got the opportunity to ARC this book and let me tell you my heart is soaring!! This is a keep your desires locked away and keep your distance romance. Emerson and Stone are your main characters who start a connection in high school and years later are pushing away their desires to prevent their heartbreak all over again. Jump into this book and find out how or if Emerson and Stone find their happily ever after!
P.S. there’s even a spicy bonus scene ;-)

If you are looking for a book that somewhat resembles the iconic Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce relationship, this is the one! Emerson, the fmc, is an up and coming singer who is a barista during the day and sings throughout the bars in Nashville that she can get gigs at. Stone, the mc, is an NFL player that only confides himself to playing football, eating, and sleep. Well, that is until his ex-best friend’s little sister moves into the apartment across from his. Especially, when her manager asks if he’s okay with fake dating her. This book really had me hooked from the start and it only took me a few hours to get through. I thoroughly enjoyed Stone’s quiet love that he has for Emerson, It was actually so cute how he would just admire her from afar. I was actually screaming when I was approved for this arc through Netgalley and I am so so grateful that I got to read this. This review has already been posted to my blog and goodreads, which is linked on the blog!

You always hear about brothers best friend, but brothers EX-best friend is a trope I never knew I needed. It just adds a whole new level! I loved the sweetness mixed with the frustration of mutual pining and honestly the fake dating was the cherry on top. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce who?

Travis and Taylor step aside for Stone and Emerson! This is such a cute romance and is a quick read. I enjoyed the backstory between the main characters and how it evolved throughout their adulthood.

This was such a good story I could not put this book down. It felt like I was right there with the characters in the story. I liked how it switched point of view. I loved the storyline as well as the touch of adult sexual tension. I would very much like to read the additional books that were mentioned With a QR code at the end of this book.

Before I begin, I would like to thank Anne-Marie Meyer for giving me an ARC of her upcoming book, Lucky Charm, which will be available on April 23rd, 2024.

Emerson wants to become a professional singer and is thrilled when her best friend finds her a place to live in the center of Nashville, Tennessee. However, her joy turns into a bit of confusion when she discovers famous NFL receiver Stone Walker, her brother’s ex-best friend, and now her neighbor. When Emerson’s best friend has an idea to fake date Stone to get more publicity, Emerson can’t believe that he agrees. But as they start spending more time together, she wonders if it would’ve been better if she kept her distance, or if she could have in the first place.

This book was cute. I loved having different perspectives from both Emerson and Stone. I related to Emerson a lot, but I also understood the reason why any sort of relationship, friendship or otherwise, would be complicated between her and Stone. Both main characters are talented, and I thought Tilly was a bit impulsive, but she meant well. There were quite a few secrets in this book, and the plot twist at the end was definitely a surprise. The romance was sweet, and I loved how both of the main characters reflected on their feelings and made the best decisions they could to move forward with their lives. I am a fan of this author. I follow her page on FB and have subscribed to her email updates. Her books are about love and strong women. She tells the stories of the couples in a beautiful way. You want them to fall in love. You root for them and cry for them. Meyer's romantic story telling is wonderfully done...and in this book, Lucky Charm...she has done a wonderful job at keeping the story going with surprises and details you don't expect. It was a good wholesome live story that I needed at this moment

The Lucky Charm is a story about Emerson, a starting out singer and Stone, an NFL player. They know each other since childhood, Emerson had a crush on Stone, her brother’s best friend.
Now, many years after no contact she moves into an apartment across from Stone. They cross paths and they are really awkward. Then at the idea of her best friend they pretend to date so that Emerson gets more recognition for her singing.
They eventually see that they love each other for real and get together.

Really cute, childhood friends to lovers. brother’s best friend romance.

This story is a cute little RomCom. Exactly the kind of story I like to read as a palate cleanser from heavier fantasy stories. I love a good slow burn and enemies to lovers situation. Prepare yourself to maybe get frustrated with a miscommunication or misunderstanding trope..but that could be just me. All in all, I really enjoyed this sweet instead of spicy love story! And the dedication page… love it!

Love a slow burn romance book, however I wish there was more character development instead of it just bam and rushed. It was a good romance book overall. This book was basically Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce relationship. They started off with bad blood in the beginning when her parents blamed him from stealing a scholarship from her brother about football and she was so in love with him in the past and now and she goes to fake date him as a plan and he agrees which shocked her! This was an easy fast read. It was a cute book overall, but it was rushed at the end in my opinion but i think it hit the mark for a holiday book. Thanks for the Arc overall for this romance book!

As I read this I immediately thought of T swift and Kelce. A love story with the odds against them, a messy history, and ploy in hopes of success. This was such a cute and easy read.

Lucky Charm is a short romance novel, which has a fake dating trope! Firstly, I absolutely adore a fake dating trope and I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Stone and Emerson fall into the classic ‘don’t fall for your ex- best friends little sister’. Stone’s living conditions were not safe, so he often sought safety with his best friend and his parents. That is until Emerson’s parents accuse Stone for stealing the football scholarship that they had planted for their son to get.

Fast forward, Stone is a NFL football player, with everything he thought he could have dreamed of. Emerson is a struggling artist, with dreams of becoming a singer. Emerson lets out an apartment for 6 months, and discovers that Stone is actually living across the hall from her. She thinks she will be able to just stay civil, until her best friend comes up with a plan. Her best friend pushes the idea for Emerson and Stone to fake-date to help boost Emerson’s publicity.

Stone and Emerson struggle their way through fake dating one another. They both are thinking the same things but don’t tell one another the truth until further down the line! At times I was screaming at them to just tell each other that they were falling in love!!!

I won’t include too many spoilers, but this was such a cute, fast paced book for me. You can really see from the start of the book that Stone was totally there for Emerson the whole way. He treats her with some much love and is so pure.

I just finished reading Lucky Charm.

I enjoyed Emerson and Stone's romance. They may have started out as a fake romance, but you wrote it so well that the reader knew that both of them were crazy about one another. Brett was a creeper, and I would love to see Tilly make a love connection. Maybe even see Emerson's brother turn his life around.

I am not a fan of Taylor Swift or American football so when I saw what the book was going to be about I was disappointed. I even put it off a bit but then decided to read it.

I read it mostly in one sitting. In one day I read the entire book.

I like how the author builds the characters and doesn't necessarily let you guess what is going on. I think maybe some of their talking about why they shouldn't be together could be less, it isn't overwhelming and that's probably just a personal opinion.

Overall, I thought it was a sweet story and I've never read romance novels before so no idea exactly what they are like, but the fact hers are clean and something your daughter could read and not be offensive means a lot. I also appreciate the glimpses of faith in some of them. Just making it normal, life....

At any rate, I think most readers, whether you like Taylor or Travis you will like this book. It addresses some of life's difficult situations in a respectful way.

I will say, as I mentioned I've not read romance novels prior but having read this one and one more of hers I plan on reading more of her books. The characters in the other one I read had an almost nostalgic Mayberryesque quality to them that makes you want to know them more....

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Lucky Charm by Anne-Marie Meyer and it did not disappoint.

At first it started off a little slow, dipping into Stone & Emerson’s past history, where her family has everything and his life is falling apart. Emerson gives a lucky charm to Stone and in a twist of fate, their lives get completely turned around. A few years later, Stone is a successful football player in the NFL and Emerson is a struggling musician. The book picks up speed when they run into each other, still very much attracted to each other, and they decide to help her get her music career off the ground by getting into a fake relationship.

What could possibly go wrong? Will they fall in love? What ever happened to the lucky charm? Guess you’ll have to read Lucky Charm to find out. 🍀

"Lucky Charm" by Anne Marie Meyer is a captivating read that skillfully weaves inspiration from real-life celebrity relationships (I'm looking at you, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce) into a delightful frenemies-to-lovers tale.

The characters, particularly Emerson and Stone, are compelling and the chemistry between them is palpable. The development of their relationship, transitioning from friends to enemies and then navigating the intricacies of fake dating, keeps the reader engaged. Tilly, Emerson's supportive bestie, adds a delightful dynamic to the narrative, embodying the role of the ultimate cheerleader.

The pace of the story is quick, making it an easy and enjoyable read, perfect for those who crave a quick yet satisfying romantic escape. The tension between the main characters is expertly maintained, and their individual personalities shine through, making them endearing both as a couple and as individuals.

While the overall experience is highly enjoyable, the story does feel a bit rushed towards the end, which slightly detracts from the otherwise seamless narrative. However, the inclusion of bonus scenes, allowing readers to choose between spicy or sweet, adds a thoughtful touch.

In conclusion, "Lucky Charm" earns a solid four stars for its engaging storyline, well-developed characters, and the perfect blend of inspiration from real-life relationships. Despite a slight rush towards the end, the bonus scenes provide a satisfying resolution for readers, making it a delightful addition to the romance genre.

A chance meeting after years of starting their adult lives restarts the connection between Emerson and Stone. Amid family tensions and fake dating, I was hooked to see how their stories would play out. I couldn’t put the book down and finished in one sitting. I am so grateful for the opportunity through ARC to read this. Now to pick the next book from Anne-Marie to read!

Stone and Emerson have a past but will they let her family stand in the way of a possible future? Loved how they meet up again after several years. Not your typical fall in love with the brother's best friend story - it was so good. My heart hurt for Stone, her family and brother shocked me at how they reacted to Stone's good luck or should I say talent. Loved the "lucky" charm(s) part of their story. Somewhat of a suspense as there is a mystery person involved in her life. Loved loved the ending. Would love a book 2 - hoping this becomes a series.

I was lucky and received this as an ARC. Thank you Anne-Marie Meyer, publisher and NetGallery for the opportunity!

This book is a good slow burn romance. Quick read and fast paced despite being slow burn. It is a little repetitive though with Stone and Emerson and their feelings. Overall it was good, childhood crushes, forbidden love, football/singer, fake dating, brothers (ex) best friend. Got a little bit of everything! Definitely will be looking at more by the author

If you’re looking for something fluffy this is it, no spice unless you get the bonus chapter which is still minimal spice.

It is definitely giving Taylor Swift and Travis Keelce (?)much like the dedication says 😅

Lucky Charm by Anne-Marie Meyer

4⭐️

In high school, Stone Walker had a huge crush on Emerson King, but he never pursued her because she was his best friend Cayden’s little sister. Stone had a rough home life so he spent a lot of time with Cayden and the King family, but after Stone was offered a football scholarship over Cayden, he was no longer welcome at the King house. Emerson is trying to make it as a singer in Nashville, but has not had any luck. When she is offered to sublet someone’s apartment while they are in Europe for six months, she ends up living across the hall from Stone, the boy she secretly crushed on as a teenager. She has not seen him since high school and now he is playing football in the NFL. When her manager suggests they pretend to date to help promote her career, Stone agrees but they are both afraid to have their heart broken again.

This book was adorable! As a Taylor Swift fan, I was excited to read this book when I saw it was about a singer and a professional football player. While the idea for the book was inspired by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, I love that the story was completely unique. I really enjoyed this book and it was hard to put down! If you are a fan of sports romances, you should definitely read this book!

Read this book if you like:
▫️Football player / aspiring singer
▫️Brother’s ex-best friend
▫️High school crush
▫️Forced proximity
▫️Fake dating
▫️Slow burn

Such a fun and heartwarming story! A light easy read that will leave you feeling good! Enimes to lovers, fake relationships, best friends little sister and sports romance!

Stone hadn't seen Emerson in years when she moved in across the hall. She was his ex best friends little sister and off limits! When she needed a fake boyfriend to boost her career he was the easy choice... Both try thier best to hide thier feelings, but that never works. Does it?

This was my first Anne-Marie book, but I will definitely looking into other titles by her!

#Review: ARC - *Lucky Charm* - Anne-Marie Meyer
4.5/5✨

It was my first encounter with a book from Anne-Marie Meyer and I super enjoyed it!! It was a relaxing book with two sweet characters to love! ♥️

Emerson is the little sister of Cayden. He has Stone as his best friend, but things got complicated in their lives during highschool. Because of that, they needed to separate their lives because Emerson's parents blamed Stone for their misfortune. Everything happened just after Emerson had gifted Stone a lucky charm.

But somehow, after a couple of years, Emerson gets the chance to rent an apartment, which is nearby her old friend and crush, Stone. From here on, the two of them have a relationship of love-'fake hate' which was interesting to follow 🤭. They were trying to avoid each other as much as they could, to not make any mistakes regarding each other (romantically).

I loved how they tried their best to ignore their feelings and how they rebuilt their relationship. I also liked the sports part, especially Stone's team, which added some really funny parts to the story.

Overall, I really loved this book and I'll definitely read other books from Anne-Marie 🥰. I recommend it if you enjoy these tropes: brother's best friend, enemies to lovers, sports romance, close proximity, fake relationship, first love.

First let me say how much I love the cover! Everyone is saying that this book reminds them of Taylor swift and Travis Kelly and I agree with them. Emerson is a singer and stone is an NFL player. This book made me go through all of the emotions. The backstory and character development is amazing. I read this book so fast and couldn't put it down.

3.5 stars!!

As a lifelong Swiftie (yes I have been there from the beginning), nothing makes me happier than seeing my girl happy with her NFL star himbo. Therefore, reading a little romcom that follows a singer in a fake relationship with an NFL star that turns into love---this is my jam!

Emerson is an aspiring singer in Nashville, Stone is the Super Bowl MVP receiver for the Tennessee football team- and they just happen to go back to high school. This was an adorable story watching them learn how to overcome the fallout of Stone's relationship with Emerson's family that took him away from her without an explanation, and navigate feelings while thinking that the other person's feelings are all fake.

This was a sweet, simple little story that was a feel good read (for the most part- don't get me started on Brett). Perfect for Swifties looking for a book to read while the game is on!

Thank you so much to Anne-Marie Meyer and NetGalley for a chance to read this in exchange for an honest review. Lucky Charm comes out on April 23, 2024!

Swifties assemble! Imagine Tay-Tay found Trav at the beginning of her career! Ok we wouldn’t have Taylors epic catalogue of albums. This is the book for you! Girl trying make it in Nashville moves into the apartment complex of a blast from the past who just happens to be an NFL player. However he has a secret! After helping the main female character to make it big the couple reveal their true feelings for each other. Great little romance with a few twists and turns!

This is such a sweet book. A broken friendship, two broken families, and a forbidden fake romance. This book go through all the emotions. It has a bit of the Taylor/Travis story line with the musician and football star but this book gives it a different twist. Once I got started, I couldn't put the book down. High recommend this 5 star read!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it was so beautifully written! I was hooked from the start and determined to find out what happens between the two MMC! I only wished this book was slightly longer so we could see more of their relationship develop but I loved reading it! This book was so cute and I read it in a few hours! Title: Lucky Charm By Anne-Marie Meyer

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars

I received this book in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley.

This author's book was my first read, and oh boy, did it steal my heart!

A young aspiring singer relocates to Nashville in hopes of kickstarting her music career, only to find herself living next door to Stone Walker, a Super Bowl-winning NFL receiver and her high school crush. Despite their complicated history as her brother's ex-best friend, she decides to stay and even entertains a plan proposed by her best friend to fake date Stone for publicity.

Surprisingly, Stone agrees, and their pretend relationship starts to feel all too real as he supports her career and showers her with affection. However, as their feelings deepen, the young woman fears getting hurt again, knowing Stone's history of walking away from relationships.

With its blend of fake relationships and forbidden romance, this book offers an irresistible combination of sweetness and spice that will keep readers hooked from beginning to end. This was a fast read for me as I love these tropes and devoured this book within hours!

Whether you're a fan of romance novels or simply looking for an entertaining and uplifting story, this book delivers on all fronts, offering a sweet and satisfying read.

This football star/upcoming singer romance is a captivating tale of unexpected love and second chances.

This book is very low spice, however the author has provided the reader with bonus chapters that contain more spice!

-brothers ex best friend
-Taylor Swift / Travis Kelce vibes
-slow burn
-forced proximity

This is my first book from this author and I loved her writing style! If you’re in the mood for a clean romance - read this. 💕

You have Emerson, the aspiring musician who is struggling to make ends meet, and then Stone, the successful football player from her past (who her parents hate - try that for complicated!!). They had chemistry throughout the book and every moment together was a battle of not giving in to each other 🔥🔥

This was such a quick and easy read. It’s the perfect "feel good" palate cleanser type of book.

I enjoyed watching these two overcome adversity and grow together!

Anne Marie Meyer knows how to tug at your heart strings!
Having read other stories she has written, I went into this book excited to see what would happen. I was not disappointed!
This book tells the story of Emerson and Stone. Emerson is an aspiring musician and Stone is a professional football player.
Reuniting after years of not talking and working through the distance that separated them. She tells their story in a dynamic way that lores the reader in and you cannot help but route for them to come together and realize what they mean to each other.
Anne Marie Meyer keeps the story moving along in a fun way with many fun escapades. Excellent read. A must for Anne Marie Meyer fans!

Difficult Past & Close Proximity? CHECK CHECK
A story inspired by the Swift/Kelce romance?! HECK YES!

I’ve read another book by this author so was interested in doing an ARC read of her latest book. With a title like Lucky Charm, I felt like it was perfect for March! But apparently I had no idea what I was in for!

My favorite tropes inspired by my favorite celeb romance had me finishing this book in a day! I loved the alternating points of few, the secondary characters, the settings. It was a quick read, a fun read, and I enjoyed it. Low on the spice level, but off the charts on the chemistry!

Can you fake dating your high school crush?

Emerson King thought her luck was changing by being able to sublease an apartment near downtown Nashville but she never expected to find out that her brother ex-best friend Stone Walker was living in his grandmother’s apartment across the hall.

Receiver Stone Walker was coming off winning the Super Bowl but finding out the sister of his former best friend was trying to make it as a singer/songwriter in Nashville but she needed some help to build up a following and catch the eye of the record companies. Maybe they can pretend to date to give her the visibility that he has as a professional athlete?

I loved that Stone finally got to date his high school crush when her family hates him when they feel that he got the chance at a scholarship that her brother felt should have been his and they hate him for it

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lucky Charm by Anne-Marie Meyer
Rating: 4/5
Publication Date:23 April 2024
Tropes: Fake Relationship, Forbidden Romance, Slow Burn.

This quick read focusses on Emerson, an up and coming singer, and Stone, an NFL player. Back in high school Stone had a big old crush on Emerson, but life unfortunately had other plans for them. Years later, they’re thrown back into each other’s orbit and so the romance ensues.

This was a cute read. I understand it’s based off of a current pop culture couple, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, but I could be wrong, I’m no Swiftie.

This was overall a cosy read, the couple was cute and the dynamic interesting. If you’re into slightly cheesy romances, then this one is for you.

This was a really sweet romance. It was a fast read. The characters were great and it had all my favorite tropes. What really stood out was the end option of spicy or not spicy. Very Hallmark vibe which I also love. This is my first read by Anne-Marie Meyer but definitely not my last.

Absolutely LOVED this book! I couldn’t put it down and finished in a day! Anne Marie Meyer knows how to tug at your heart strings. (That's one of the reasons I love her.) Having read other stories she has written, I went into this book excited to see what would happen and I was not disappointed!

This was such an enjoyable, quick read that I was able to finish in one day (to be fair, I simply didn't want to wait to finish it). While Stone and Emerson ticked me off a few times, with their miscommunications, I really enjoyed the characters and Stone was such a gentleman. This was my first book by Anne-Marie Meyer, and it will not be my last.

Stone is a famous football player for the Tennessee Tigers and Emerson is a budding musician who works in a coffee shop.
Growing up, Stone was best friends with Emerson’s brother Cayden, until Stone was offered the football scholarship Cayden had dreamed off. This lead to the end of their friendship. Fast forward a few years later, Stone is at the top of his game whilst Emerson is facing eviction. Her best friend Tilly manages to find her a new apartment which seems too good to be true. Especially when it turns out Stone will be her neighbour. After being reunited, Emerson’s friend Tilly suggests the two fake date to help Emerson get discovered as a singer.

I was rooting for Stone and Emerson from the start. It felt slow burn between them but their chemistry was great! Their relationship felt very natural. I liked that they were able to move on from what happened in their past. Stone and his Lucky Charms were so sweet. He was a great mmc always looking out for Emerson and you could really tell he cared for her. It was hard to put this book down as I was so immersed in their story, I read it in a day!

Thank you to NetGalley for sending me a copy to review.

Lucky Charm was a fun book to read. A budding song writer/singer, Emerson and an all star football player Stone, who just happens to be her high school crush, and let's not forget about her best friend and manager Tilly, that comes up with some crazy ideas. Tilly convinces Emerson to sublet an apartment, that just so happens to across the hall from Stone, although she doesn't know that when she agrees to move-in, Tilly's first idea and her second is for Emerson and Stone to pretend they are in a relationship to get Emerson more visibility for her budding career. It was fast read and kept my attention all the way through, all the characters were very likable and I wanted to be friends with them.
Anne-Marie Meyer is a fairly new author for me and I will continue to read her books.

Thank you NetGalley for the gifted ARC. This was a very cute and quick read. The author dedicated the book to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for inspiration. I can completely see where she got the idea with an aspiring singer songwriter and NFL star.

Their love story began in high school where Stone had a crush on his ex-best friend’s little sister and Emerson had a feelings for Stone too. They lost touch and were reconnected when Emerson moved into the apartment next door to Stone. They decide to start up a fake relationship to provide Emerson with som visibility and help get her a music contract.

I recommend this book to all those swiftie lovers at there. It was a very sweet read with a happy ending.
