Advance Praise
I was quite pleasantly surprised by this book. It went deeper than I had anticipated, showing some background that kids may not consider, beyond simple right and wrong. I liked how it showed the frog’s approach, that even though the things the swans said may have made him angry, he needed to confront the swans with a heart of peace and love. I also liked that the story went on to show how to make reparations when you’ve done something wrong. Well done. Love the illustration.
This, I would say, is a book for parents to read to children as the reading would be more advanced than most young readers. Older children could appreciate the message too though.

This book had such a wonderful message! No matter if you are a child or an adult, it would be hard to miss the overall lessons that the author so perfectly conveyed.
I loved how Bettilyon weaved in foundational truths on how one should treat another. She was able to show and tell what pride, arrogance, humility, hurt, doubt, shame, and guilt looked like. She painted a picture of what a repentant heart and life did. She allowed readers to see empathy.
Not only did this book do a great job of identifying what I consider to be a major problem in person-to-person relations and tolerance and/or acceptance of differences, but it also did a tremendous job of providing a very necessary solution on how best to address the identified problem.
