This book is amazing. Easy to read and understand with an author who has obviously lived everything she writes about. Its obvious that health is the main focus in this book and I love that this detox is not about abstinence, but rather about eating healthy while making small changes.

The recipes are great as I have tried quite a few - the only issue I have is that trying to get to the recipes on Kindle is rough, I will be buying this one hard cover. I love this book.

This is a game changer for me. I've always associated Detox with shakes and being miserable and Melissa shows you how to incorporate healthy ingredients into a 14 Day Program that you don't even realize you're on! Now that's what I call fabulous. Eating well, enjoying it and reaping the wonderful benefits.

The grocery list is nice and the recipes are light, refreshing and flavorful. Well worth giving it a try for only 14 Days! Just 2 weeks of your life that will change the rest of your life!

Step by step easy to follow 2-week program. Simply by eliminating 4 items from your diet (yes, only FOUR), you can get a jump start on eating the way that you should. Say bye bye to caffeine, sugar, alcohol and anything processed. While the initial couple of weeks were a bit difficult, once I made it through, it was easier (minus the vegan part - because I love meat).

Not your ordinary Detox........
I wasn't sure what to expect when starting this book, there are so many Detox, and Diet books out there. I was surprised and pleasantly.
It sounds daunting at first, cutting out the CRAP - Caffine, Refined Sugars, Alcohol & Processed Foods but read on and you will find this is like having a friend to hold your hand and walk you through the 14 days step by step.
The explanations of why those foods are bad for you and why we still eat them are enlightening and the details that outline how you may feel when giving them up is a bit scary but then you have to be committed and have a go and you really will feel much better for it.
There are hints and tips on what to do if you have any symptoms and affects from giving up these bad foods and then a pre-detox week to get you thinking, shopping and prepping for the 14 days.
It's almost like a Yoga class for eating, there are rituals, action items and a 14 day eating plan with full recipes.. I am seriously thinking about giving this a go, I have done a similar thinks in the past but this book goes a step further and you give up meat & animal products too which would be VERY daunting for alot of people, I am usually game to give most things a try however.
I will certainly be incorporating much of it into my lifestyle and using many of the recipes and I would recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a nice easy introduction to Clean Eating.

A great resource for anyone looking for a total cleanse. Although I find this type of cleanse WAY too restrictive for me, I think that The Clean in 14 Detox book is a really great resource for anyone who is interested in completing a total cleanse. It's chock full of recipes and great advice, and really gives you all of the tools that you need to complete the 14 day program set out by Ms. Costello.

'm a HUGE fan of Beachbody and the workout programs they bring us, particularly the 21 Day Fix which has helped me shift some weight and gain a better body shape. However this book is connected to another Beachbody trainer; Tony Horton of P90X fame.

The book is broken up into nine chapters:

* Chapter 8 -- Clean in 14 Rituals

* Chapter 9 -- The Recipes

In the first few chapters Melissa gives you a basic food plan to help you start the cleanse and elimination of CRAP foods.. an acronym. I love that it gives you an explanation of the foods you need to avoid and why you should do so. She explains the benefits of a cleanse and how people have lost weight using the program. Tony Horton himself is one reason why this book is a success because look at what he practices... he preaches it too! And thousands if not millions of people are benefiting from his advice and Melissa's work.

Melissa's program isn't just a food-based cleanse; each day of the cleanse, she encourages you to avoid sabotaging addictive patterns, by doing things such as journalling and creating action items and rituals for each day.

In terms of the recipes themselves, they all rely on easy-to-find ingredients and come together fairly quickly, so there's not a lot of complicated cooking to do. If you're worried that Melissa will try to convert you to being vegan, she won't. She logically explains why a plant-based cleanse is beneficial, and then provides some tips for how to transition out of the cleanse if you want add dairy, eggs, and meat back into your diet.
