Description

Renny Butler races to Ireland in search of her mom, who vanished during a secretive trip. She uncovers a shocking truth: she was adopted, and her birthmother was Aghna Shaw. An investigative reporter, Renny works with Connell Rourke, who runs the Lost Children website. They explore the dark history of Castlemeehan, a former Magdalene Laundry where unmarried pregnant women like Aghna were forced to work, their babies taken and sold as Renny had been. Though Renny and Connell face a growing body count, romance blossoms, but would they find Mom alive?

A Note From the Publisher

I read a book by an Irish reporter about the Magdalene laundries in Ireland that really got to me. For decades if not centuries, unmarried pregnant women were forced into laundries to work 10 hour days, 6 days a week, for no pay. Then their babies were taken from them and sold, often to Americans.
What a set up for a revenge story!

Featured Reviews

This is a very well-researched and well-written book about a topic that interests me. I read and write about birthmothers, adoptees and adoption often. This was interesting and a new take on the story of young women being forced to place their children for adoption. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
