Opening on the modern-day site of the Saratoga battlefields and culminating in DC, the story of Max and Violet is one of romantic suspense, healthy doses of spice, love, and brotherhood.

Violet finds herself inadvertently swept up in a deadly mystery, one she needs help to save herself from. Lucky for her, help arrives in the form of a very capable, tall, dark, and handsome friend of a friend.

Max will always have his former commanding officer’s back. When a mission goes bad and he opts to recuperate at Lake George, the last thing he expects is a late-night distress call to save a woman close by.

Together, Max and Violet race to solve the intrigue Violet is caught up in before it’s too late. With a murderer hot on their heels, they find love, passion, and friendship, but they’ll have to work together to escape with their lives.

Amy Cole is a voracious romance reader residing with her husband, two teenage sons, two black Labs, and one grouchy cat in the Midwest. She is a lover of history, books of all types, food, cooking, traveling, her family, sports - specifically college football and anything the Kansas State Wildcats are competing in, decorating her house, and being outside (primarily in the fall and winter). She loves watching her boys and their friends play football and basketball and run track. She considers her family and friends as the best part of life and works to weave easter eggs into her stories for each and every one of them.
Prior to starting her writing career, Amy traveled extensively for work for many years. She’s tried to include fun tidbits about great locations and can always be counted on to offer advice on where to eat for anyone traveling to a new city.
This is a debut novel in a planned series. Amy promises spice, historical tidbits, those fun easter eggs, some mystery, lots of happily ever afters, and that no dogs (or cats) will be too badly harmed in any story she writes.
