I've dipped in and out of this series from Lisa Jackson - have enjoyed all the ones that I have read, this was a slight departure for her as it focused more on some of the surrounding characters- I loved that about it, kind of a different angle but with the same feel

It worked really well - the tale is one of a killer, thought to be in jail, who kidnaps twins on the eve of their 21st birthday and kills them at the time of their birth. When another set of twins goes missing the game is afoot. So to speak.

There were some gorgeous little twists and turns in this one, the whole subject of twins I find fascinating. Part of the plot involves a support group for surviving twins - losing a sibling is never easy, with twins if there is any truth to the duality theory must be incredibly difficult. The subject is explored in a really interesting way here as the different participants have different stories.

Then there is the mystery element which is well imagined, often tense edge of the seat stuff, the opening portion sets the scene really well, in a heart stopping way and from there on in it is totally addictive reading.

Overall then another really good novel from the pen of Lisa Jackson that has ensured I will continue to read these wherever possible. And I really should go back and fill in the gaps.

Happy Reading Folks!

Right now, this was not a good choice for me to read. It was well written and the characters were very real. It was a little too gory and graphic for me, but those enjoying horror and a good scare would like it.

Twins abound in this story –as murder victims, murderers and those who solve murders. This is an action-packed, seat of the chair thriller that as I read I found myself hoping would have a happy ending for the kidnapped twins, Chloe and Zoe. Two serial murders play appear in this story: the “21 Killer”, someone that abducts twins and murders them before their birthday, and “Father John”, someone that has featured in previous novels that include Bentz and Montoya and who is may have been presented again as a prelude to a future novel in which Bentz and Montoya finally solve that one case that haunts them. Bentz and Montoya play minor parts in this story but it was nice to see them again and hear how they are doing. I always enjoy reading Lisa Jackson books and enjoyed this one, too.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Twins Zoe and Cloe are out celebrating their 21st birthday on Bourbon street when they disappear. Their Mother is frantic and goes to her friend Brianna. They are afraid the 21 Killer may have them. As far as the police are concerned the 21 Killer is in jail. Detective Bentz was a part of the original 21 Killer case and he isn't entirely convinced they have the right guy, but why would the killer suddenly turn up in New Orleans? There are so many twists and turns in this book it's hard to keep them straight! A twist at the end that you probably won't see coming. This book will keep you guessing! Another winner for Miss Jackson.

I received this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I am embarrassed to say I have most of this author's books, but have not read any yet...This is my first, and I can't wait to go back and start the series from the beginning. This was a really good installment and the writing was engaging. I will definitely move Ms. Jackson to the top of the list.

She is one of our automatic authors with good reason she usually leaves me and patrons wanting more, this time she did. R&R are back and murdered twins seem to be the agenda . This books gets you drawn in from page one and never let's up.

NEVER DIE ALONE is the latest installment in the Bentz/Montoya series by Lisa Jackson. I love this series. It's very suspenseful and always keeps me on the edge of my seat. It has been 4 years since the last book in the series was out,and I did find it a little hard to reacquaint myself with the characters/setting. I recommend that you read the previous books and this one, within a short amount of time. the 21 killer and father John are still on the loose, and Detective Bentz is hellbent on capturing those killers that got away. I really liked how the story went, especially once all the missing pieces started coming together. Plenty of twists and turns to make you think. Highly recommended

Never Die Alone Lisa Jackson

It's a twin thing. On the eve of their 21st. birthday Zoe and Chole Denning were kidnapped.
Brianna Hayward was awakened by her phone at 2am. It was Selma Denning distraught that her daughters had not checked in.

Jace Bridges wants the crime reporter job at the police dept. He has a secret.

Dect. Rick Bentz was trying to decide if he should retire or go after the serial killer known as Father John.

All these people and more come together to make one incredable thriller.
The twists and turns in this book are tangled yarn. So much happening at once you don't dare blink. What goes through the minds of the two girls is so realistic you can't help but cheer for them. The kidnapper is so delusional it's hard to tell the real from the delusion. The heartache of Selma and the frustration of Brianna becomes so realistic it could be a true story. Jace Bridges wants to be a crime reporter but his drunken, pan-handling father won't let him forget what happened years ago. Dad also has a deadly secret.
Rick Bentz is shocked and frustrated that the murderer he thought was dead is back and killing again. His wife wants him to quit and spend more time with his new baby. Police work is his life, can he quit?

I couldn't get over how Lisa Jackson managed to weave all these threads together into one, edge of your seat, spine tingling, suspenseful drama. This has got to be one of her best books. I can't get it out of my head. WOW

Thank you NetGalley for the advance Kindle version.

I made the mistake of starting this awesome book while I was sitting at our local pool waiting for my daughter's swim lessons to be done. It was so riveting and interesting, I forgot where I was and started talking back to the book and I made other people look at me weird! :D Ms Jackson has done it again - a great book that will transport you to New Orleans. Bravo!

Perfect installment in this series. Rick Bentz never disappoints and the return of Father John ups the suspense.

Let me just say I loved the Bentz and Montoya novels previously written by Lisa Jackson but since she normally writes romantic suspense, I wasn't sure what to expect since Bentz/Montoya have already found love. However, this book is a bit different in that there is very little romance and we really don't see too much of Bentz/Montoya. Sure they are there but they are more of a background story.
This was a great mystery surrounding the abduction of a set of twins on their birthday possibly by the same deranged killer that police thought had already been convicted.
One thing I love about reading the novels of Lisa Jackson is just when you think you know who the bad guy is, there is a twist in the story and you find out you were way off. Great suspense and great characters equals the perfect combination for a mystery. And fortunately, the ending assures me that there will be at least one more story featuring Bentz and Montoya.
