Bride by Mistake is a beautifully written story about the unexpected twists and turns life takes. Kaitlin and Beckett are an unlikely couple that makes sense. Loved the small town, family feel of this story. Nicole Helm did a good job of bringing the reader into the story and holding their attention. This story is a worthy asset to a heartwarming series. Received this book for an honest review

Kaitlin Shuller's heartbroken when the man she sets her sights on marries her sister, except that it takes the town's bad boy to bring her to realisation that she was only looking at her sister's new husband as a measure of security. Beckett Larson is her saviour, except that he outruns his own insecurities in a similar way Kaitlin does. The dance that ensues is painfully amusing and so deluded that the second half of the novella becomes an exercise in dramatic irony.

I don't exactly buy characters' sudden tumble into love - particularly Beckett's - when all they've been is antagonistic for years (a pregnancy certainly isn't too hormonally-charged that uncertainty and desperation could turn so quickly to love) but I definitely found myself liking this short story a lot more than I thought I would, given the rather predictable subject matter of a fling gone wrong. That however, is mostly in part because of Ms Helm's excellent and incisive writing that makes this book a standout.

Bride by Mistake by Nicole Helm is a fast-paced novella that can be enjoyed in one sitting. It is the third book from Tule Publishing's Montana Born Brides series and it can be read as a standalone. I am a big fan of all things bridal, so between the pretty cover and the book blurb, I was excited to spend some time in Marietta, Montana, with some down-to-earth characters.

Kaitlin Shuller and Beckett Larson have know each other for many years. Beckett is Kaitlin's older brother's best friend and business partner. They have never really gotten along, resorting to forced niceties and a personal jab or two during the few times they happen to run into each other. Beckett's expertise in car restoration has earned him some success, despite being considered the town bad-boy. While Kaitlin's goody-two shoes approach to life has proven to cause her more heartache then anything else. Kate and Beckett are attracted to each other and on the evening of Kate's younger sister's wedding, they sleep together. As a result, their lives will never be the same.

I liked this story and the way Ms. Helm evolved the relationship between Kaitlin and Beckett. Many twists and turns in the lives of the characters kept this book interesting and engaging. Overall, this is a well-written novella with a refreshing perspective on a tried and true plot.

Nicole Helm isn’t a new author to me and along with knowing the quality of novellas Tule Publishing consistently release, I had no hesitation in reading Bride by Mistake. Whilst the third in the Montana Born Brides Series, series, there would be no problem in reading this as a standalone, although there is some character crossover.

“You’re not nearly as Mr. Bad Boy as you seem to think you are.”

With wonderful characters and a captivating, tight storyline that flows well, I devoured this in one sitting. Kaitlin and Beckett’s journey brought emotion, as characters they were down-to-earth befitting to the Montana Born way and I wanted nothing more than for this couple to find their Happily Ever After.

"If I have to romance you into it, I can do that."

Bride by Mistake was a pleasure to read and I’m looking forward to reading Maisey Yates’ addition, Finally his Bride which focusses on Kaitlin’s brother, Luke.

Wow, this really was such a good book. I only thought it was a little short...but it really wasn't lol. It just felt like it was because of how smoothly it went through everything. Poor Kate is heartbroken the love of her life..or so she thinks...is marrying her sister! Looking to make herself feel better she forces Beckett, the bad boy, to take her with him to a bar. Getting it in her head that she wants to forget everything she sets out to seduce him and I thought it was the funniest thing because Beckett already had feelings for her that he had pushed aside and when this happens he is shocked.

My only problem with this story is that Beckett has been accused of doing something and for some reason we never really find out who did it or why everything seems to point to Beckett. I don't like loose ends like that and being left hanging to find out what has happened. Obviously it has left us with an opening for the next book, but I am dying inside with curiosity lol. Overall good read I am rating it in at four stars.

Bride By Mistake, written by Nicole Helm, was a pleasant surprise. I’ll admit, I’ve never picked up a book by this author before—but I am so glad that I did. Bride By Mistake was a sweet contemporary romance about the complicated relationship between Kaitlin, a no nonsense must-plan-out-everything type of girl—and Beckett, the motorcycle-riding bad boy who is best friends with Kaitlin’s older brother.

Technically speaking, the writing was very well done. There was one line in particular I had to re-read because for some reason it amounted to Greek as far as I was concerned, but otherwise, the narrative flowed smoothly, and was paced well. I did spot a handful of typos, but to be fair, this was an ARC—and I can’t hold a few typos against the author when it wasn’t a published copy.

As far as the characters go… I adored them. Kaitlin had a nasty habit of over-thinking everything, and it lead to quite a few chuckles as she proclaimed her hatred of all things Beckett in some pretty colorful tirades inside her head. Likewise, Beckett didn’t pull punches when he narrated his opinions of the other characters in the book. Between the two of them, the heady bits that otherwise could have been boring, made for an engaging read.

As far as the other characters go… eh—this kind of plays into the fact that I only gave this book 4 stars. Other than Kaitlin and Beckett, I didn’t feel like I got to know any of the other characters very well. The closest to the main couple was probably Kaitlin’s older brother, and he maybe had an hour of screen time if you counted all the time he waited in the hall outside of Beckett’s hotel room. Despite the impact Kaitlin’s sister and her beau had on Kaitlin’s life, they weren’t present after the first chapter. The story stayed almost exclusively with the main couple. Don’t get me wrong—in some ways, that’s good. It was their story… and I’m glad I got to spend a lot of time with them… but I think a lot more drama and conflict could have been introduced through the other characters, and I would have liked to have experienced it.

The main reason this book got 4 stars instead of 5 though, was the romance. It was sweet, funny, and a bit frustrating at times. The first and only sex scene was both steamy and awkward—but not in a way that made me cringe. It was exceptionally well-written. The problem is, 90% of the story revolved around Beckett and Kaitlin arguing. There wasn’t a lot of chemistry between the couple in the narrative (despite assurances from the characters that there was), and other than a few moments here and there when Beckett was basically acting like a devoted house-wife to Kaitlin….well, I didn’t see the romance behind it all. I still loved the characters and the story, but I was expecting more chemistry for a Romance novel, and I didn’t find it.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. It made me laugh, it made me grin, and I loved the characters to bits. It wasn’t as steamy or squee-worthy as I’d hoped, but it was still a very solid read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you like conflict-laced romances with witty characters, you’re probably going to enjoy this book, and I’d certainly recommend it.

This is the third book in the Montana Born Brides series and is a delight to read.

Kaitlin works as a florist in Marietta. She plans everything in her life but in this instance, her plan does not fall into place when she attends the wedding of her dream husband marrying someone else.

Beckett is the bad seed of Marietta. His childhood was tough but he has managed to make something of his life but even then the reputation from his youth still plagues him. When Kaitlin decides to change her attitude towards her orderly life and has a wild night, the unexpected occurs. Everything becomes very emotional and Beckett is determined not to allow history to repeat itself, whereas Kaitlin is is trying to work to a plan.

It's a unique story line which I read in one sitting. It's a real page turner which kept me guessing until the end.

I received this ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

One of my problems with the formula romance novel is that the principal characters sometimes suddenly realize that they love each other and then the author draws a quick happy ending. In"Bride by Mistake" author Nicole Helm gives her couple plenty of time get together and the result is a satisfying take on the unexpected pregnancy story.

Good girl Kaitlin watches her sister marry the man that she has loved since childhood. On an impulse, she decides to rebel against her better nature and seduce the town bad boy, Beckett. As is the case in these novels, one bad decision leads to a permanent consequence when Kaitlin realizes she is pregnant. What follows is the story of two people who need to discover who they are before they can commit to each other. In the process, Beckett and Kaitlin's insecurities reveal real people as opposed the idealized couples that can sometimes populate these novels.

All in all, a quick and satisfying read.

This sexy enemies to lovers romance, part of the Montana Born Brides series but easily read as a standalone, is the story of Beckett and Kaitlin. They've been at odds since they were children, always pushing each other's buttons and getting under each other's skin. But when the love of Kate's life (or so she's always imagined) marries her sister, Beckett is the one she turns to forget everything for just one night. Surprised to discover that their animosity has really been covering up a deeper passion, Kate backs off when Beckett is ready to pursue more. But when Kate finds out that there will be more consequences from their night together than she was prepared for, will she finally confront her feelings and realize that it's Beckett she's wanted all along?

I really enjoyed this story! I always like the enemies to lovers trope - since we all know that the opposite of love is indifference not hate, it stands to reason that two people who are passionate in their dislike for one another are probably hiding some secret attraction, and that's definitely the case here. Beckett and Kate finally succumb to the inevitable and the resulting scenes are steamy and emotional. But sex doesn't make a relationship and both characters have a lot to work on with themselves before they'll be ready to move forward. I liked how their characters evolved over the story. Beckett is used to running away when problems strike but he's realized that that is not the way to solve any of life's problems and this time he's determined to prove to himself and Kate that he's willing to go the distance and be there for her in any capacity. He really comes across as a generous and sweet guy, despite his bad boy reputation. Kate is so used to making a plan and sticking with it that it's blinded her to the fact that sticking with something is only worthwhile if it makes you happy in the long run. Determined not to make mistakes, she almost misses out on the opportunity to be with a man who cares for and about her. Their romance was really quite lovely as they worked through all their issues, and the ending was great. 4 stars!

Such a sweet and emotional love story. Beckett and Kaitlin both had emotional issues they were dealing with. Together they found a love with each other that they couldn't deny. But will they put aside their issues to become the couple they both want to be. I really enjoyed this story, it was emotional. sweet and endearing.

If I hadn't started this book just before I went to work, I would have read it in one sitting. When I got an email telling me this book was available to me on Netgalley, I did the "run, don't walk" thing and downloaded it right away. The blurb alone had me eager to read it and I was not disappointed.

Beckett and Kaitlin are both right up my alley as characters. Beckett is the bad boy with the heart of gold (You know, he rides a motorcycle, has tattoos, and gets into a lot of trouble as a high school kid.) type that always gets to me. Beckett has struggled all his life with being the "bad seed" and unloved. The only person who has ever stood up for him is Kaitlin's older brother Luke. Kaitlin is the good girl who always does the right thing but is not rewarded for being good. In fact, she is most decidedly punished for being good and the man she loves is marrying her bad girl sister. Kaitlin is a little bit of a doormat in her goodness, which extends to her helping with and being part of the wedding. Kaitlin and Beckett have a long history: he needles her and she gives him back as good as she gets. It's an adversarial relationship without any heat.

With the wedding night though, comes a lot of pain for Kaitlin. She's come to the realization that being good has gotten her nowhere and so she decides to be bad. And bad boy Beckett is just the one to be bad with. Unfortunately for both of them, Beckett is crazy about her and Kaitlin doesn't know how to handle being a bad girl. And one night, one mistake, and Kaitlin is pregnant.

I really liked how Beckett gives up his secrets slowly through the book. A little bit here, a little bit there and the bad boy becomes a man desperate to be loved and accepted. He wears his heart on his sleeve, literally, in the form of his tattoos. He craves to be understood by a certain good girl who holds her own against him. He aches for the stability of relationships. He has pride but also tenacity. Kaitlin struggles much more to break out of her rigidly planned and regimented life. She doesn't trust herself or her feelings and is both intrigued by and fearful of stepping out of her old life. But her struggles seem less emotional.

I really liked Bride by Mistake and look forward to reading more of Helm's Montana Born books.

Fun, easy read with great HEA.

It was a tad short for me but I loved both characters. Beckett and Kate grew up together. I wished I would have seen how and when Beckett fell in love with her. Kate I didn't know if I liked her. She was pineing over a guy that had't even looked her way. Her using Larson into forgetting Carter was just completely wrong. Beckett knew it but, he wanted a night with the girl he had been involve with all his life. Her brother is an asshole. Really I wanted to now who stole the money from Him and Beckett business. Over all I liked the story line just wished we knew a bit more of the stolen money and of their past together while growing up.

Sweet little love story. Kaitlin could be whiny and childish at times. Beckett's response to the pregnancy was a little overboard even with his past. This wasn't insta-love since they've know each other since childhood, but it sure seemed liked it. There was no resolution with Beckett and her brother, Luke. I hope Luke gets his own HEA, and we get answers to this situation.

I've been enjoying this series about the little town of Marietta and the Montana Born Brides. This third title by Nicole Helm has definitely been my favourite so far. Like the other titles, it's quite short so there's not a lot of time for much development but Nicole Helm has used her space well. The relationship between Kaitlin and Bennett is worked out believably in context and there is tangible emotion in this sweet and tender story. And there is also anger, bitterness and pride as a counterbalance. I was delighted that the author chose to leave some unresolved issues too, making her story more true-to-life as a result.

Kaitlin Shuller has always been the ‘good’ girl, working towards her goal since she was a young child - the goal of marrying her sweetheart. Today he’s getting married and she’s sorting out the flowers, making sure everything is great but it isn’t really because he isn’t marrying Kaitlin, he’s marrying her sister. Her dreams are going up in smoke, her goals no longer attainable and who will she dream of now? Hold on, he wasn’t the only one she dreamt of . . . . she was also secretly attracted to her older brother’s best friend and local reprobate, Beckett Larson. He’s spent most of his life trying to escape his bad reputation, much of which he didn’t deserve but when his Kaitlin turns to him at the wedding, he just can’t say no. He’s spent years taunting her to get a reaction from her, she’s the girl he always wanted but she’s always been so ‘good’, so out of his league - till now!

This is a great addition to the Marietta sagas with many of the characters and places from the earlier books included. I really like the way that the stories are by different authors yet the characters and settings still remain connected and true to other stories in the series. This one has lots of twists and turns, a strong female lead who is, at last, realising that her earlier dream was just a dream of security and not real love. The author portrays their emotional journey, taking the reader along and making it easy to empathise with their viewpoints, turmoil and decisions, whilst still keeping them looking for a HEA.

Whilst this is the third book in the ‘Montana Born Brides’ series, you wouldn’t have to have read the earlier two books to enjoy this one. Having said that, they’re all great books, so why not read them all? This is a great, endearing novella that I have no hesitation in recommending.

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent read! Kaitlin and Beckett have always been verbal sparring partners, but when Kaitlin is forced to watch the man of her dreams marry her own sister, it appears Beckett is the only one who really gets how hard it is for her. When one night of passion turns into an unplanned pregnancy Beckett is determined to do the right thing. The right thing turns into the thing he really wants the most. Now to convince Kaitlin of that!!

I definitely recommend this one

Book Review: Bride by Mistake by Nicole Helm

Unrequited love and a tale of redemption, “Bride by Mistake” begins with the unlikely friendship of two wounded hearts. The town’s “good girl” Kaitlin Shuller saw her longtime love marry his sister while the town’s “bad boy” and pariah Beckett Larson just lost his only friend in Marietta.

Licking their own wounds, Kaitlin and Beckett found themselves commiserating together that ended into a one night hook-up. Their affair should have ended in the morning but there were consequences. The result: Kaitlin and Beckett need to get over their broken hearts or else they will be in deeper trouble than before.

Short, sweet and told in a leisurely fashion, “Bride by Mistake” teaches us not to judge a book by its cover and the book happens to be ourselves! Kaitlin and Beckett have to face their own demons and their own insecurities before they can take a step forward and learn to love themselves.

Was it a song that told us that the greatest love of all is learning to love ourselves?

Bride by Mistake is Rated T for Teens due to adult situations. There is one sex scene which is implied and not graphic.

Kaitlin has spent most her life in love with Carter and he loves her sister and she is just ready to be over the wedding and see where life goes. She has decided that she is sick of living what everyone else wants and she is ready to make some changes. Beckett has been known as the bad boy for so long and he is so over it. He comes face to face with the last person he ever thought he would have to deal with his biggest fantasy come to life. This book is a quick simple and fun read packed with lots of ups and a few (good) downs but downs that keep you guessing and wanting to find out what is going to happen. This is a book full of chemistry from the begging to the end and leaves you wanting just a little more. Its also a fun book from Marietta Montana where you find your self visiting from pervious books that really having you coming back for more.

I am in between book at the moment and this was just what I needed to keep me company. A nice short and sweet romance. I loved the characters although I would have loved to get to know them better. I liked the way Kaitlin and Beckett's relationship developed. Not the best circumstances but it was just soo romantic in the end. 5 awesome stars from me.

4 - "You're not really as Mr. Bad Boy as you seem to think you are." Stars!

Bride by Mistake is probably one of the best novellas I have read through Tule Publishing, being book three in the Montana Born Brides series, you can read them in order or quite easily as standalones if you wish.

Sex and hearts didn’t always intertwine.

I think everyone needs their own Beckett Larson, the tattooed, motorbike riding, perceived bad boy, with an absolute heart of gold. Not without his faults for sure, but put against straight laced Kaitlin Shuller’s abrupt nature and this was a novella match made for reading!

Everything just clicked for me with this novella; I stayed up well past my bedtime to finish it. There isn’t really anything out of the ordinary in the storyline, and it certainly held no surprises, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

No man had ever... been this much.

One thing is for sure, I will be looking for more books by Nicole Helm as her characters and writing style really did tick all my boxes.

It takes watching the man she loves marrying her sister to make Kaitlin realize she’s tired of being the good girl, people pleaser she’s always been. Now that her plans have been destroyed, Kaitlin’s free to finally go after the bad boy that’s been staring in her X-rated dreams.

Beckett Lawson was a troubled teen, whose ‘bad boy’ reputation has followed him into adulthood. He thought he had a chance to escape it, but now that his best friend and business partner is accusing him of stealing from the company, Beckett’s right back at square one.

So when Kaitlin seduces him, there’s no way Beckett can refuse. And now that Kaitlin’s pregnant, he’s not about to let her go even though she wants to go her own way.

A part of me wanted to harm Kaitlin. I know she’s dealing with her whole ‘the-man-I-love-married-my-sister-so-my-world-is-shattered-and-I’m-tired-of-being-a-good-girl’ thing, but come on, after she slept with Beckett, she treated him poorly then told him lied about his feelings for her. I know she’s trying to sort out who she is now but she came off as self-absorbed and she kind of crawled under my skin.

I loved Beckett. He’s a bad boy with a heart of gold that he kept hidden. He’s been in this situation before and it ended badly. He’s not about to let it happen again, so he wants to be there for Kaitlin, which seems to tick her off but he’s not giving up. To matters worse, he’s been falsely accused of stealing from the company he started with the man he thought was his best friend.

Even though Kaitlin wasn’t my favorite heroin, I liked this book because I’ve always had a fondness for bad boys and I found Beckett to be endearing. He’s the type to fight for what he wants.

While the plot was fast-paced and heartfelt, I felt that this book should have been longer so that all things could have been resolved. While the characters did get their HEA, not all threads were complete and dangling threads drive me crazy.

Overall, I liked this book. Did it need to be longer? Most definitely.

This was my first book to read by Nicole Helm. I enjoyed it very much. This was a sweet story with great characters. Easy to read. This can be read as a stand alone novel but I believe if you read the others in the series it might be easier to understand. There is a bit of character crossover, which I enjoy.

Cute quick read. Well, it should have been. I just got so aggravated with Kaitlin that I push to keep reading at points. And it wasn't just aggravating, I really disliked her character which kinda ruined the book for me. I liked the storyline, which granted wasn't new, good girl, bad boy, unexpected results. And I liked Beckett, enjoyed his character. It was just Kaitlin. Her thoughts and actions were those of a child, good bad right wrong, without any gray areas. Drove me nuts!

The heroine finds the good in another person that is considered a "bad seed" by most. In the process discovers who she is & what she truly wants.

I’m usually not a fan of enemies turning into lovers and living happily ever after. For me, personally, it normally just does not work. But this one I’m making an exception for one simple reason – Kaitlin and Beckett have always been attracted o each other, hidden under the animosity, it’s there plain to see. So for that reason alone I gave this couple a pass on the enemies/lover thing.

Kaitlin watched the man she loved, had buily dreams around, planned a future with get married. To her sister. This was not the way her dream was supposed to play out. She had always been the good girl, the one to never get into trouble, never take risks and what did it get her? A broken heart, that’s what. That changes today.

Beckett had a reputation as a bad boy. It was a reputation that he did nothing to change, didn’t go out of his way to correct people’s impression of him, right or wrong. Behind his bad boy facade lived a lot of hurt, a lot of misunderstandings and a whole lot of take me as I am.. or not, don’t care. So when Luke, his partner and best friend as well as Kaitlin and Sierra’s brother literally kicked him out of the wedding. He left. Angry that his friend would believe he would steal from him, from their own business – and because it was what Beckett always did, run when the hurt got too deep.

So how in the world did he end up with Kaitlin on the back of his bike, headed for Marietta’s Grey’s bar for a few drinks…and who knows what next? It was a mystery to him, but one he wasn’t walking away from. By the end of the night, Kaitlin would have made the first reckless decision of her life, Beckett would have finally gotten the woman he loved in bed —and the results would change everything for everyone.

I really, totally fell in love with Beckett. I hurt for him, cheered for him and mentally urged to punch Luke in the face many times over this story. He has the bits and pieces of a bad boy, but somehow the heart is wrapped up enough in hurt that the bad boy isn’t so awful at all. I liked Kaitlin – didn’t love her because frankly she annoyed me. And it was enough to put me off of really rooting for the character. Oh, I know there are people like Kaitlin – I actually know a few, which is probably why her inability to simply believe or make a decision grated on me. Yes, she made the right choice in the end (and without the conflict we wouldn’t have a story), I simply, sadly never totally warmed up to her.

I enjoyed Bride by Mistake, would recommend it as it is a sweet, entertaining love story.

*I received an e-ARC of Bride by Mistake from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

~What you, the reader, always must remember is this simple truth. Any review is just one person’s opinion. You might feel the same or totally different. The only way to know for certain if any novel is right for you – is for you to read it. This was my opinion of this particular book.~

This was a quick shortbread katilin has been in love with a man her whole life that she thought she would marry she did everything based off one day being his wife, so to,find out her sister was marrying him made it so much worse. On their weeding day she can't seem to take it anymore and sets out to live a little and seduce the only other man that has ever made her feel anything.

Beckett is a lot soul on the world where he feels no one loves him, he's the bad boy all the girls rebell with but he's bee. In love with Katie for years, so when she sees him and ask to go with him he says yes. One night of passion and lust leads to a lifetime commitment neither knew would happen.

Can they let go or their past can they move on with their future can they learn to let love in.?

Loved this story. I truly loved everything about it. Both Beckett and Kate were engaging characters. Their doubts and fears completely made sense. The years long attraction to each other made their eventual night together seem inevitable. Beckett is such a good man, but tainted by his childhood. And Kate is a good woman, who fooled herself and then had such self doubt that she was unable to trust what she felt for Beckett. A wonderful little love story.

The bad boy with a heart of gold meets good girl is a theme that is very common in romance, and this book told one of the better ones. What made this work was the writing. It was easy to read. Great banter and humor, plus the chemistry between Beckett and Kaitlin was undeniable.

This book is so sweet! When I started reading this, I know, I just know, that I would love this. I couldn't put it down, I didn't even want to look up until I finished the whole book. I love the main characters especially Beckett, my sweet sweet Beckett. People regard him as this 'bad seed' but inside, he's not very tough as he looks. Kaitlin was a bit stubborn and indecisive but she saw right through a person and believes them.
I do not like the supporting/other characters, though. 'Cause I still think that Carter and Sierra, or the whole Shuller family for that matter, are assholes.
The pacing dragged a bit towards the end but the ending was endearing, nonetheless.

Bride by Mistake by Nicole Helm Bad Blood Beckett—he’s that growly bad boy with a chip on his shoulder and a soft place in his heart. And his soft spot is getting mushier, especially when it comes to jilted Kate Shuller. Watching her melt his heart left me with a smile and that feel good tingle that we all like in our romances. I identified with Kate because I am a planner, too, but it was wonderful to see that foiled plans sometimes give us our best happy endings.

Kaitlin’s dream of becoming a McArthur bride was crushed when the man he longed to love, Carter, married her younger sister instead. Then she ran off with Beckett, the man she openly loathed. Their one night tryst turned to a night worth 9 months in the making.

I liked this latest book in the Montana Bride series. Nicole Helm literally helmed a bestseller with Kaitlin and Beckett in tow. I liked the idea that Kaitlin wasn’t really in good terms with Beckett, then eventually realized her feelings and acted upon it. That was quite romantic, in my opinion. And the resident bad boy reputation had always been my weakness, so Beckett clearly got me, motorcycle and tattoos included.

I also liked how Nicole wrote in such a way that one can’t help but fall in love with the characters and the story as a whole. She had me sighing with pleasure in more ways than one! All in all, this had been a great romantic read!

(This review is based on ARC e-book provided by publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.)

Thoroughly enjoyed this mostly predictable, mildly angst-filled romance novella by Ms. Helm. She did a good job with character development and keeping the storyline focused on the main couple, all within the scope of only 127 pages. This frenemies to expectant parents romance featured a reformed bad boy hero, Beckett, who everyone is quick to misjudge and a wholesome heroine, Kaitlin, who seemed to be mostly misunderstood by herself. Loved how Beckett was so patient in dealing with his Kate’s misgivings and the way he cared for her. Could easily see this story expanded to include more about Luke, the missing money, and Kaitlin’s sister. Overall, if you are looking for a short, somewhat steamy, enjoyable romance, you should consider reading Bride by Mistake, Book #3 of the Montana Born Bride series.

Amazing read. In every way. Love Beckett and Kaitlin. Wish I could read more of them!!

This was a short but sweet read about enemies to lovers with a common twist on a common romantic trope. Kaitlin has never really liked her older brother's best friend Beckett. But when the man she had her sights on marrying since she was a teen marries her sister instead she turns to the one man who rubs her the wrong way in all the right places. Beckett has never really fitted in his hometown of Marietta. Being abandoned by his parents and being raised by his beloved grandmother still couldn't make him respectable in the ways of the town. But uppity Kate has always been his kryptonite and when she decided to put the moves on him in an almost adorable way he couldn't really refuse. What he did know was the morning after was all going to be back to him being snubbed what he didn't expect was falling in love. This was a short contemporary but had all the right feels and moments wherein we side more with the hero but definitely know where the female lead is coming from. Both Kate and Beckett had issues which might frustrate some readers but what was nice about this it didn't take them long to actually understand that they needed to make amends to each other. A sweet but heartfelt love story guaranteed to keep readers entertained.

Bride by Mistake Montana Bride Series Nicole Helm

Kaitlin Schuller is a mess. Her sister, always the bad girl, is marrying the love of Kaitlyn's life ( not that either of them knows). Carter is strong, honest and very rich and she has loved him forever. Not only did Kaitlin have to accept the marriage, but she's in a frilly dress and has done all the flowers for the ceremony and reception. She just wants to escape. So she does.

Beckett Larson known as the "bad boy" of Marietta just finished a discussion with Kaitlin's brother Luke, who has accused him of stealing from their shared business. He didn't, but his reputation has convinced everyone he is guilty. He decides that he is in need of being drunk. Out of the wedding venue comes Kaitlin, obviously distressed. She has always treated him like he didn't exist, except to berate him, so he is amazed when she comes up to him and asks to go with him. Beckett is a tall, well built biker, with tats and attitude and so not in Kaitlin's league. He has always felt sparks for her, so off they go. A fateful decision for them both.

This is a short enemies to lovers story with a lot of heat. Beckett is tired of his reputation, and has worked hard to change it and even his best friend doesn't believe him. His usual answer to threats is to run. But his running is finished. He just has to convince Kaitlin of his honesty and intentions. My only objection with this story was that the ending was a little rushed. I think I wanted more of Kaitlin and Beckett.
A very enjoyable read.

I enjoyed reading this Book. The characters are very well written, the story line is easy to follow.
Kaitlyn is trying her whole life to live like a perfect woman, perfect job, and perfect behavior. But that does not bring her to marrying her secret crush instead her sister does. So on their wedding day she has enough of being perfect. She seduces town ultimate bad boy Beckett who is also her brother’s business partner. Attractiveness that is already present over the years in the subconscious explodes and brings them a very hot passionate night. But night brings consequences. First time in his life Beckett decides he will not run away but fight.
This book does not disappoint, it was a great read, quick paced and we'll written.

Wanting to escape the poverty she’d grown up in, Kaitlin Shuller has built a life to be envied. Only one of her goals has gone unfulfilled and it will remain unfulfilled, because you just can’t marry your sister’s husband.
Well, there is one other thing she’s always wanted, but she’d deemed Beckett Larson unworthy no matter how her body responded when he was near. She’s made an art of being nasty to that man.

Until she realizes, walking out of her sister’s wedding reception, that maybe being good wasn’t getting her what she wanted. It certainly wasn’t making her smile!

Of course, when she decides to let down her guard she gets into trouble and winds up a bride by mistake!

Hott Review:

What I liked: So sweet! I really enjoyed Bride by Mistake. I went from laughing through the first half of the book to crying through the second.
It was fun, sarcastic, and real. The relationship between Beckett and Kaitlin, while predictable, is worth the read. The feelings they hide, the facade they show, who knows them really?
I appreciated that the steam was tactful and fun.
What I didn’t like: The only thing about Bride by Mistake I didn’t enjoy was the foul language.

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review.

Kaitlin Shuller loves to live life according to her plan. But just like the best laid plans everything goes crazy when the groom of her dreams marries someone else...her sister!! Broken hearted she is fed up, and ready to walk on the wild side... but she needs someone who knows how to be wild and crazy and in walks Beckett Larson.

Beckett Larson is known as the biggest bad boy in town. Although he has always had a thing for Kaitlin he stays away from her because she is his best friends sister.

Rules fly out the window when Kaitlin throws herself at Beckett at one of his weakest moments. One night of passion turns into a 9 month promise that Beckett is not going to step away from.

How does the towns bad boy convince the towns good girl that he wants to give her a new title..wife? Read and find out!

I absolutely loved this book. I some how stumbled upon the fact that the series is written by multiple authors, which is a great concept because the series will always stay fresh and new.

Nicole Helm did a great job with this, I laughed at the some of the interaction between Beckett and Kaitlin had and of course I cried at other moments. I am usually on the side of the female character when I read (go girl power) but in this case Beckett had my heart.

Kaitlin at times got on my nerves with all of her rules and plans and she wouldn't just relax and live. Beckett had me at hello..he hid behind this bad boy façade but in reality he just wanted love, he wanted a family, and he wanted someone to believe in him.

Right now this book is listed for 2.99, so it fits my check list for great book at a great price. I definitely recommend this book.

Bride by Mistake, Montana Born Brides Book 3 by Nicole Helm. I enjoyed this story and sympathize with both Kaitlin and Beckett but found the ending a bit over the top. Kaitlin could be whinny and controlling which I would have found unacceptable in a main character if the author had not shown so clearly the early years in her life. In the same way, much of Beckett’s early life is also shown. All in all, he might have overcome his beginnings better than Kaitlin.

The only real connection to the other novellas in this series is the upcoming celebrity wedding. I enjoyed the little side tidbits given concerning that wedding but was glad that it did not hijack Kaitlin and Beckett’s story.

Nicole Helm is a new author for me. I like her style of writing, letting me see inside Kaitlin’s and Beckett’s head. Using their childhood memories as clues to their action as adults helped me not take all their actions at face value. It gives an extra character depth to Kaitlin and Beckett. There are others that interested me too. I would like to know more about Sierra, though Carter did not intrigue me at all. Well, Luke now he is another story, I can’t wait to read.

Bride by Mistake by Nicole Helm was a sweet story. Kaitlin has disliked Beckett all her life because she was attracted to him, but he didn't fit her idea of what she should want, so she did everything she could to push him away. Beckett was always the bad boy, so he has always felt like he wasn't good enough for anyone, especially Kaitlin. Well, one night together results in a lifetime tie and brings out old insecurities for Beckett. I have to say I enjoyed how real these characters were. Their lives were messy and their reactions were complex yet I could see myself or a friend reacting in a similar manner in their situation. I give this book 4.5 stars and definitely recommend this book. This is a great addition to the Montana Born Brides series and I look forward to more from both this series and this author.

This is the story of Kaitlin, a good girl who's there watching the "love of her life" getting married to her sister, and Beckett, a bad boy with a heart of gold. He's also Kaitlin's brother's best friend, sort of (you'll get the sort of while reading it). Kaitlin decides that being good isn't all it's cracked up to be and goes wild for a night, with Beckett.

This book, while a little short, is so enjoyable. I loved Beckett. He's so flawed and so determined to not repet the mistakes of the past. I didn't read the other Montana Born Brides yet, but I'm going to and I'll read the next one too.

All her life Kaitlin has dreamed of becoming Carter's wife. She saves herself for him. She never strays. She always does everything right with the hope that one day Carter will bother to finally look at her. Well, that never happens. Now she's brokenhearted. He's getting married to none other than her SISTER.

Bride by Mistake (Montana Born Brides #3)

She's such a masochist, she helps her sister with the wedding plans and the flowers. But inside her, sadness, frustration, and anger are eating at her.

Meanwhile Beckett, the town's bad boy and her brother's best friend, has always had the hots for her. She finds this out when she tries to seduce him into making love to her.

Beckett doesn't want to be "revenge" and doesn't want to be her night of "rebellion" but he can't help feeling sorry for her and her disillusion. Though, he's always wondered what it'd be like to sleep with her.

Their night is supposed to be a one-night-only affair, until Kaitlin finds she's pregnant wit Beckett's baby. That's only the beginning to the obstacles they both have to overcome.

My thoughts:

Predictable. Done one-thousand times over. But who cares! I liked it. Kaitlin got on my nerves with all her what if's and wanting to have the perfect plan. I got to a point where I wanted to scream because her thinking process got a bit ridiculous. I was all: Helloooo, you got a baby on the way, what do you expect? And then Beckett immediately jumping to the "Let's get married" was a bit overdone. That was another Helloooo.... it's 2015, no man jumps at the "Oh I got her pregnant so I'm going to marry her" especially not after a one-night-stand. Still, you gotta love Beckett when he does this. Nice of him, just not something that happens nowadays. It would've been different had this been a historical. Then maybe I would've given it a 5 stars... because really, who doesn't like the baby trope? I do anyway. And it's perfect in historicals. But I digress. One other thing that drove me nuts was Beckett not telling Kaitlin's brother the truth about the money that went missing from the shop. That got boring as the story went along. And when they finally talked, why was it such little money? I would've thought it would've been thousands of dollars not just a mere one-thousand. Really, a grudge over one-thousand dollars? I rolled my eyes at that. Also, I felt like Beckett should've given up Craig, if he was the real culprit. Oh well. Still. This was a fun, short read and Nicole Helm is now on my list of authors to look for.

I really liked this book. I have read all in the series so far and this is one of my favorites. I loved Beckett. He is a bad boy who had a heart of gold and very few people see the good in him. Kaitlin is a good girl who had her life mapped out...until her sister marries the man she intended to marry. Kaitlin is one of the few people who see the good in Beckett and doesn't dwell on his past and hold it against him. This is a story of a good girl and a bad boy hooking up and the result makes them both realize that what they thought they wanted in life may be different that what they actually do want.

Of the first 3 books out so far in this series I like this one the best. The emotion is raw, the pain and confusion quite palpable. You can feel the struggle that the characters are going through and I found myself rooting for team bad boy from start to finish. I wish it was a little longer but as with all the books in the Montana Born series I'm sure we will come across Kaitlin and Beckett again before too long.

I couldn't really buy into the thing that the heroine pined for a man for years (even saved her virginity for him) and he didn't notice her one bit and married her sister. Who does that??

Bride by Mistake is the third book in the Montana Born Brides series, and the second that I have read - you can find that review here. It is well written with a solid plot and well developed characters.

Kaitlin is determined to shake off her good girl ways, and damn it, Beckett is the man that her subconscious dreams of - she doesn't know why though, he's nothing like the man she has planned her life around ... the man that she has dreamed of and worked towards ... the man that married her sister.

Beckett Larson has always held a torch for Kaitlin, he knows that he is the only person that can get under her skin and irritate her - which is why he enjoys pushing all her buttons. What he doesn't know is that somehow he makes Kaitlin feel a little different about herself when she's around him, and she doesn't quite know how to deal with that.

He doesn't fit into her plans - the plans she used to have, that is.

A thoroughly enjoyable read. This book contains sex scenes.

Sometimes the bad boy is a better choice.

Kaitlin's heart is broken because the man of her dreams is marrying her sister. Not her.

Beckett is her brother's best friend and a man who has been running from his own demons. But he is there when Kaitlin needs a shoulder to cry on. And the crying leads to something more. Jump to several weeks later when Kaitlin realizes there is a gift from her evening with Beckett and the romance heats up.

There is the usual brother thinking that Beckett and his demons is not good enough for his sister plus Kaitlin's need to grow up some. But there is an underlying spark between Kaitlin and Beckett. The question is can they make it work?

Full disclosure - I was provided with a copy of the novel in exchange for an honest review.

Bride by Mistake is book #3 in the Montana Born Bride and it's a great addition to the series.

Ever since Kaitlin Shuller’s was 8 years old she was sure that one day she'll marry Carter McArthur but Carter is getting married and the bride is no other than Kaitlin's sister.

Kaitlin's plans are destroyed and her heart is broken when Beckett Larson, her older brother’s best friend helps her escape the wedding early.

For once Kaitlin wants to have fun and enjoy life and she knows that bad boy Beckett is the perfect candidate to have a one night stand with and finally lose her virginity. She was always attracted to him, even though she tried to hide it by acting like she can't stand him and now she can finally make her erotic dreams come true.

Beckett knows Kaitlin only sees him as a bad boy to have fun with for one night but he wish they could have a real relationship.

I enjoyed reading about Kaitlin and Beckett.

I loved the hero Beckett, at first it seems like Beckett is a bad boy but it soon turns out that he changed a lot since his teenager years and he wish the people of Marietta will see the real him and truly believe he matured but when his best friend doesn't believe in him it's hard for Beckett to trust people and to have hope he has a future with Kaitlin.

Overall Bride by Mistake was a very enjoyable story and I enjoyed reading it.

So whats a girl to do when her sister marries the man she's always wanted well get drunk (well imbibe a little liquid courage anyway as the town's good girl she can't give too bad an impression) and sleep with her brothers best friend (the town bad boy as everone knows good girls always want the bad boys) what's the worse that can happen she stamps her V card something that she'd saved for her sisters now husband and is free to go on with her life no one the wiser........... well that's what should have happened its a shame the gods of fate didn't agree with the plan as Kaitlyn finds out when a month later the stick turns blue. For Beckett it's like living his last year of high school all over again except this time the good girl he's knocked up is his best friends sister (who has always been his guilty dream girl.) The tiny town of Marietta is bursting with love it seems with bachelor auctions and celebrity weddings the Marietta series has become a must read for me.

I'm quickly becoming a Nicole Helm. 4.5

Let's start with the fact that this is a novella. there's so few authors who seem to really be able to pull off the novella and make you feel like you walked away with an entire story... Ms. Helm is apparently one of those few.

This is a perfect bad-boy takes on good-girl story with lots of layers. A great quick read.

I always hate when people say "I wish it were longer, I'm marking it down bc it wasn't long enough even tho it was a full story." (which, hello! means it was long enough) but I will say this:

I loved it I didn't mark it down But I do wish we could have stayed in that in-between time where Beckett was winning her over a bit longer.

Final remarks: A must read!

Kaitlin Shuller is almost a perfect girl. She does everything that is expected from her and more. Always following the rules and always taking care of what others might think. It was all for Carter, the boy she fell for when she was eight. She had since then dreamt of marrying him – the perfect guy, according to her. But real life has other plans which do not match with her dreams. Carter ends up marrying Kaitlin’s sister. As if a broken heart was not enough, Kaitlin has to go through the wedding pretending to be happy!

Beckett Larson has a reputation, one that is exactly opposite of Kaitlin. He is the bad boy that every mother warns their daughter about. Beckett never cared much about what people had to say about him and as such he never went out of his way to prove things either way. He rides out the waves as they come… But when he is accused of cheating and stealing from the business he helped build with his partner, he has had it…
Kaitlin and Beckett end up together as they try to drown their sorrows in a couple of drinks that lead the way to a passionate night. But is that is all that is there between those two? From enemies to lovers, they have come a long way. But will that be enough when life throws a curve ball at them?

Beckett was easy to fall for. He is the hottie bad boy that every girl has a thing for. But he also comes with a soft heart and lot of baggage. However, I do not agree to his ‘running away’ whenever there is some misunderstanding or so. It is okay if he doesn’t care what people think of him, but he should at least not take the blame for things he has not done by running away instead of standing up for himself. Kaitlin is a complete masochist… I can understand her wanting to be the good girl and all. But planning her sister’s wedding to the man she loves is a bit too much. Yet she takes it on anyway. They may be perceived as complete opposite of each other, but reality, they are a perfect match. Beckett can show Kaitlin how to loosen up and have a little fun while Kaitlin can show Beckett to calm down and actually care. Both the main characters are flawed and that is why I loved them so much. It is easy to point out what each of them needs to do yet, we see it around and within ourselves – small flaws that turn out to be so difficult to overcome.

The plotline is predictable and you will know every twist that is to come. But the sweet narration and the smooth flow of the story, along with its characters will keep you glued to the book.

Kaitlin Shuller's life is perfectly ordered and planned, she just needed her best friend to see that she would make the perfect wife. Unfortunately, he didn't see it, choosing her imperfect, wild-child sister to marry, and, can Kaitlin do the flowers for the wedding?
Beckett Larson is the best friend of Kaitlin's older brother and has spent his life as the bad boy. Kaitlin and Beckett have always been aware of each other, but he never fit into Kaitlin's plan for the perfect life. Until she needed to escape from the wedding. Throwing her plans out the window, Kaitlin decides to have one night of not being perfect. Beckett tries to fight it, especially since his best friend has accused him of stealing from his own company.
One night has consequences and Beckett is determined to show Kaitlin that you can't plan the perfect life because life can't always be planned.
Beckett was such a strong character. Shaped by his life, he is determined to do the right thing and make sure that his child never doubts that he wants it. He is also determined to make Kaitlin see that there is no such thing as the perfect plan and get her to live life without a plan.
I enjoyed the interaction between the main characters, as well as the secondary characters. The story is well-paced and easy to get caught up in for an afternoon read. A sweet romance, it is part of the Montana Brides series, but it works well as a stand alone story with cross-over characters.

Another fun read in the Montana Born Bride series. I always enjoy when books are intertwined like this series and the fact that each book can be read as a stand alone novel.

Kaitlin is a good girl who has her life planned out including who she is going to marry. Only problem is she never let her potential groom know that and he ended up marrying her sister. Beckett is a bad boy and Kaitlin's brother's business partner. He has always enjoyed riling Kaitlin up based on the fact that she does not "approve" of him.

I liked Beckett a bit more than Kaitlin, he had such a rough time and had major trust issues but he tried to do the right thing. And of course things worked out as they should have in the end!

I'll post my review on Twitter and Facebook.

Beckett Larson is the bad boy of Marietta and has had feelings for Kaitlin for a while. He is also struggling to deal with her brother who is blaming him for stealing money for their business. That he didn't do.

Kaitlin becomes pregnant and Beckett sets out to get her to take a chance on him. Because of her fears she pushes him away. It takes Beckett leaving for her to realize that she is in love with him.
This is a sweet story and a fast read.

I'm looking forward to the next in the Brides series but will be keeping a lookout for the next Nicole Helm story.

I felt that I was missing something when I started reading this novel. I realize it is the third in the series but I thought it could standalone. I still found myself feeling like I was missing some information that would have been helpful. It did not ruin the story, however.
I liked this novel more than I would care to admit. At first, Kaitlin was so obnoxious that I wasn’t sure I could continue the novel because I couldn’t stomach her personality and inner monologues. It was amazing to watch her grow and change as a person into someone much more realistic and likable. Despite this, I felt she should have been much better towards Beckett. I felt that she was so selfish being caught up in herself and her head that she couldn’t see him as he was. I wanted to shake her for how blind she was being! This is one of the few “bad boy” novels that really held my heart. Beckett was a heart wrenching male lead who didn’t seem as cliché as I thought he was going to be.

Despite seeming like a toned version of the movie 27 Dresses, this story was...nice. The desire to be what everyone expects you to be is strong and it was a good journey for Kaitlin and Beckett (and on opposite sides of the spectrum) to finally think about what and who they wanted to be. A nice romantic journey of helping each other become their "true" selves. Cute, short and light. Perfect for a day of sun and sand.

OK, so we have our bad boy, Beckett Larson, and our good girl, Kaitlin Shuller.... their story was written well, they were developed well, they had chemistry and great banter ....what more could you ask for out of a novella? #HIGH5

Beckett is the towns bad boy, doesn't matter what he does they always think bad of him, Kaitlin is reliable, dependable and liked by all. When the guy Kaitlin is in 'love' with marries her sister she leaves the wedding and runs into Beckett and asks him to take her away from there, they go for a drink and things go from there...great read!

Kaitlyn knows what she wanted but she was unlucky in love. She had her heart set on Dr. McArthur but he married his sister. She was having worst day ever and she decided to have an one night stand with anyone. That anyone happens to be Beckett. They disliked each other for longest time but she decided to loose herself to Beckett. However, her rebellious plan backfired when she found out she was pregnant. She always plans her life but this wasn't part of the plan but she decided to keep the baby and decided to tell Beckett. Beckett is known as "bad seed' in Marietta and he has a history of losing a child before so he decides to be the father he needed to be. Beckett suggests marriage to Kaitlin but she doesn't want to Kaitlin is struggling to find her true feelings while Beckett is doing everything in his power to keep her near him. Beckett even moves in with Kaitlin to take care of her but she is not opening up to Beckett yet. Will Kaitlin open her heart to Beckett and become his bride??? Will she realize her true feelings before it's too late?
It was short and sweet. I did liked Caitlin and Beckett and all their drama. I can't wait to read the next one about Kaitlin's brothers on next one.

4.5 out of 5 stars! Would-be enemies get close one night, find common ground, and end up creating more between them than they had originally planned. However, will being together be what they both want and need or will other "plans" get in their way?

Captivated from beginning to end by the noble bad boy winning over his long time secret love interest. Beckett and Kaitlin (Kate) are oil and water at times but in the end, they made one another become a better person in the long run. Once Beckett gave up on running away, he turned into a doting man who I swooned over more than once. The only thing that was hard to read about was Kate's aloofness/denial to her over feelings towards Beckett. Nevertheless, I am happy with how Kate stepped up and the ending turned out. This read definitely turned into one of my favorites from Marietta.

I highly recommend this novel to those looking for a quick contemporary romance!
