Mac Dalton is a well-known Milwaukee barkeep, and not just because she makes a mean cocktail. No, Mac has other talents – a special ability to sense things other cannot; a talent she’s more than happy to use to help solve some of the nastier murders in town. Now a new patron wants Mac’s help cracking his sister’s cold case murder. She’s more than willing, but it seems word’s gotten out about her talents and now the media is all up in her face. How’s a girl supposed to solve a murder under that kind of scrutiny? I loved this – funny, snarky and just plain fun
Mack's dilemma grabbed me from the first page and held me in gripping anxiety until it's surprising conclusion. There are so many new questions that have me anxiously awaiting the next book. I can't recommend it highly enough!
In the Drink by Allyson K. Abbott is the third book in the Mack’s Bar Mystery series, and my first book by this author. I loved this book, and plan on going back and reading the first two books in the series. Mackenzie “Mack” Dalton is not only a great bartender, but she also has an ability to feel or sense things others can not. Mack uses her ability to help the police solve murders. This book was not only fun, it kept me reading page after page. Looking forward to reading the next book.
I admit this is the first book in this series I have read. It started out a little slow for me and didn't really pique my interest until about halfway through. Mac's "ability" was very interesting and a new twist I haven't read about in a book before. I very much enjoyed her solving the 12 year old murder mystery, but was disappointed she wasn't able to solve the letter writer mystery in time. Guess I'll have to pick up this series from the beginning to get the backstory and wait for the next book to come out to see who the letter writer is.
