Description
The quotes are from artists, Buddhists, philosophers, poets, and more, all centered on the theme of how “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes” (Marcel Proust). The short, playful exercises and prompts—like Seeing in the Rain, Eye Spy with My Open I, Spend 30 Minutes Taking a Five-Minute Walk, Get Lost—are designed to disrupt routine and inspire readers to see for themselves. Some of the exercises involve drawing, writing, and taking photographs, opening a path to creativity as well as showing how to engage in the moment.
Think of it as the Zen of seeing—a new way to look at the world afresh and rediscover joy in the everyday.

A mindfulness approach and handbook for the curious novice to the experienced yogi! The blend of invitations to practice, visual inspiration, thoughtful quotes and passages make this the optimal book for a mindful practice and life!

I have been thinking quite a bit lately about Stress Management and gathered some resources from our faculty to post on the main library page. Several new books related to this topic have also come to my attention. In particular, I REALLY like See Your Way to Mindfulness by David Schiller. It is simplified, yet powerful, filled with images and quotes that encourage contemplation and evoke a sense of peacefulness. Schiller provides numerous exercises to encourage greater mindfulness and awareness of the world around us.
Of course, there are many more books and resources related to the important subject of managing stress or anxiety; please send us your recommendations – thank you. AND Linked inside live post are many resources: http://newtrier.libguides.com/Stress
