I truly enjoyed reading this book. I gave it 5 stars and highly recommend to everyone! A great book for bookclubs also. I like that it was a novel full of relationships between characters, father, daughter, grandson, grandmother, friends, half brother and half sister. I enjoyed the love story between the characters and was so happy their wasn't ridiculous sex scenes in this book. It is a feel good novel and I would read it again and again.
this book was fun to read, I liked the characters and the story line was very good. Real world situations made it believable. At times it felt a little stiff to me. It was well worth a read if you like a little bit of mystery and crime and a lot of romance.
Four White Roses by Judy Ann Davis
Level of Romance: High
Four White Roses by Judy Ann Davis (Amazon | Kobo) is the story of a sarcastic ghost and two lonely hearts finding love. Widower Rich Redman didn’t want to come to Hickory Valley, PA but he was left no choice. His grandmother’s house wasn’t selling and he needed to make decisions on it, not to add that a mysterious last note from her has just been discovered. When he finds himself in need of rescue ten miles out of town, Torrie Jean Larson plays the part of Knight in Rusted Pickup and gives him a ride to Grandma’s house. When he discovers the contents of grandma’s mind-blowing last missive, he finds himself in need of an ally like Torrie. Soon they are facing homespun adventures in a haunted house supposedly hiding a magnificent treasure. Of course, they discover love along the way:
The kiss was slow and gentle. Nothing like she expected. She felt a slow flame begin to burn all the way down to her toes in her strappy heels.
From first kiss to last, this is a story that will keep you laughing till the very end.
Four White Roses is a very well written book with a good plot and interesting characters. I enjoyed Ms Davis's writing and look forward to reading more of her work.
This is a wonderful sweet romance that has Rich Redmond and his young daughter returning to Pa. to settle his grandmother's estate. When his grandmother's ghost wants him to find his half sister and a cache of jewels hidden by his great great grandmother he wonders about his mental state. He meets and rekindles a childhood friendship with Torrie, a single mother. A nice old fashioned love story with a touch of mystery and a ghostly nudge of love for her grandson. The title is so neatly wrapped up in the story and the symbolism is beautiful. Judy Ann Davis gives you a nice feel good story that moves along with humor and the token bad man.
