Description
Horse trainer Stone Dempsey’s life is all about the ride—with horses and women. He uses his equine talents to impress the country club set and earn money for Smoky Mountain Reining Horses. When his drug-addicted sister deposits her sick baby on his doorstep, he’s suddenly saddled with real responsibility.
Dr. Emmersyn Cole’s goal of starting a practice in her favorite place on earth is finally coming to fruition and she is not going to be sidetracked. Everything is going great until Stone swaggers into her life, half-dressed with a smile that could melt her insides. She's determined to keep her distance…until he rushes into her grandfather’s home, clutching a feverish baby, terrified and vulnerable, and her heart’s hard shell begins to crack.
In only a few short weeks, Stone’s wayward heart suddenly relies on two women—one who needs him—and one that he might not be able to live without.

My first book by Leslie Scott and I thoroughly enjoyed this page turner. Great small town location with great characters. A bit of romance and sex done well. I'd like a next in series to see what happens next.
Two Hearts One Stone is my first read by Leslie Scott, but I’m sure it’s just the beginning of a beautiful relationship with this talented author. Her easy writing style brought the characters to life and the narrative provided an amusing, romantic, heartfelt and well rounded story. This is a very quick read, but endeared readers to the primary couple and only left me wanting more. I’m hoping this is just the first of many more stories set in this environment, and I’d definitely like to keep in touch with what’s happening in Stone and Emmersyn’s world. So maybe a sequel? Just throwing it out there Ms Scott.
Two Hearts, One Stone is by Leslie Scott. This author is a new to me author. I was drawn to this book by the beautiful cover!
Stone Dempsey is a horse trainer living on his boss, Howard Cole’s ranch. He loves what he does and he’s good at it. Stone is quite the man around town with the ladies. He has never given his heart to any woman. His good looks makes it possible to have any woman he wants. But his life is about to change in some pretty major ways!
Emmersyn “Emmy” Cole is about to start a life she has worked towards for a very long time. She’s out of medical school and is starting a pediatrician’s office in the small town where her grandfather lives. She always loved it here and can’t wait to spend time with her beloved grandfather. It’s when she meets her grandfather’s resident horse trainer that things took off in a direction she was definitely not prepared for.
“Eight years of college, countless clinicals and internships, and nothing had prepared her for one Georgia horse trainer with the devil in his eyes.”
Stone is immediately drawn to the sexy Doctor. But after one night together, he realizes that he needs more. That this woman is a woman he wants more time with, that she is special.
At the same time, after having gone missing for over a year, Stone’s little sister shows up, high on drugs, with a sick baby girl. Before he knows it, she runs off and leaves him with the sick infant.
“In such a short time, his life had changed so drastically the importance of everything had shifted.”
Stone was suddenly thrown into the role of a father. The connection between he and Emmy also grows but Emmy is fighting it all the way. She’s convinced that her Cowboy Casanova is just having fun. That it doesn’t mean anything.
“With Emmy, there could be more than just one night or a few weeks. Emmy wasn’t just something worthwhile – she was everything.”
This was unexpectedly a fairly short book. I never really did feel the connection I wanted to feel between Emmy and Stone. Even though they were spending time together and sleeping together, she still tried to convince herself that it was all just for fun. That there were no feelings involved. What I did love about this book, though, was Stone’s immediate acceptance of little Maddie, his niece, into his life. He took on the role of father like a champ and he had no experience whatsoever. He had to be taught how to chance a diaper. I also loved the way he recognized that Emmy was important to him. Even though his life had completely changed, he accepted it without hesitation. So even though some things about the book disappointed me some, it was still a sweet story of two people finding love when they least expected it. Isn’t that the way it always happens?
Boots and Babies Book 1, Two Hearts, One Stone is a fabulous start to a series. Stone and Emmersyn are great characters and with a wonderfully developed storyline, this was truly a pleasure to read. I am quickly becoming a fan of this author and look to read many more of her books in the future.
I received an arc from Netgalley. What a love story this turned out to be. Stone, a horse trainer with a wild side, meets the doctor and an instant attraction ensues. Although the single and some of the married women don’t take the hint that Stone is off the market true love won’t be denied between Stone and Emmy.
Great read and quite the page turner.
When I first started reading this book I wasn't sure what to expect it, I felt like the story started off with a slight bang. The overall story line was good. I loved Maddie and I loved Tara the little part that she played in the book she had this fighting spirit in her and she was easy to love. Over all I was not a huge fan of this book, it seem to be missing something and seem rushed. The book was a quick read, it had a lot of strong language and adult scenes throughout. This book is definitely an adult read.
Oh My...what an incredible love story and not just romantic love. Stone was man whore from the word go - when he laid eyes on his bosses pretty granddaughter Emmy all of that came to a halt for him. His long lost sister comes back and leaves him with responsibility he doesn't think he is ready for and it shows him in a new light to Emmy. His past and her insecurities may be on a collision course.
This is such a fantastic book to read. Kudos to Leslie Scott.
Not bad, its a quick read at 100 pages. Would of liked it to be a little bit longer as you don't really get that much info about Stone.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance read, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, The Wild Rose Press, Inc via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a wonderful story. Stone is a womanizing horse trainer working for Emmersyn Cole’s grandfather. Emma returns home after becoming a doctor to open up a practice in her hometown. The fireworks just light up right from the beginning. There were parts that were hilarious and some sad. The road to a HEA was filled with strife, jealousy and other women interference.
The dual POV format was really helpful to help me identify with the characters. This is a book that I highly recommend for someone over the age of 18.
A beautiful and entertaining love story about two people who, with the help of a foreign baby, turn their insecurity into a passionate inferno ("Desire coated with anger").
The writing style is pleasant, fluid and invites you to smile in some places.
If you want your Cowboys arrogant, full of themselves and gorgeous - Come and meet Stone Dempsey.
