I just started this book and I'm hooked. I am in my mid 20's and I suffer with PCOS. I struggle daily with the symptoms mentioned in the book including infertility issues. I love how in depth the author went into each symptom and what you can do about it. I don't feel so scared anymore about these big words my doctor tells me. This book really provides comfort and reassurance that PCOS is not only treatable but reversible.
This book provides a comprehensive approach to PCOS. It is nice to find a book that actually takes this condition seriously Many gynaecologist and family doctors have brushed women off and not listened to their patients concerns. I usually do not look to a naturopathic approach but I am glad I decided to read Dr. McCulloch’s book. She starts the book by defining what PCOS is and also the many subsets of the condition. Each woman experiences PCOS in a different way and McCulloch is aware of this. One woman can experience weight gain and facial hair, while another is skinny with elevated cholesterol.
She provides 8 specific steps for reversing PCOS and goes into great deal to explain not only how to do so but also reasons why each step is important. She backs up all her facts with research which gives some evidence to her naturopathic medicine. Her advice would be helpful for all women and patients in general. Following a low inflammation diet and exciting more are advice that would benefit everyone.
I honestly think this book would be especially useful for someone who is newly diagnosed with PCOS. Doctors can’t or won’t spend the time to review just how much this condition can affect you. It is usually not until woman is expiring complications such as infertility or several menstrual/hormonal disorders that she goes to her doctor for more. This book would be an excellent resource and should not be overlooked

Really glad to have gotten this as a resource. I liked how it was organized and the suggestions given helpful. I liked that the author was also coming from a perspective of having experienced this personally.
I was diagnosed with PCOS back about 12 years ago now. However I never really understood what that meant for me.
This book answered all the questions I had. I didn't realize just how many of my complaints could be traced back to PCOS. As I read through it I made a list and now I have a handy page to take in with me when I next see my doctor.
Hopefully I'll be on the road to feeling great again soon. There is so much information in this book that I can easily see myself reaching for it over and over again to look up supplements and other ideas to try as I tweak how I deal with things. Repairing my Metabolism would be awesome and for the first time in a long time I'm feeling hopeful after reading this book.
