As a total newbie in Yoga, this book has given me a huge insight into Yoga, from history and poses, to where and when to start and progression through to proficiency in Yoga for the die hards.
I highly recommend this book and I definitely will now be in aking up yoga, using this book as my guide, and saving myself a fortune in yoga classes.
The book starts with a history and philosophy. Very interesting. It then goes into the first 10 poses. Shows many diagrams and photos and the instructions are very clear. It then goes into more advanced poses.
I like that it explains how you should start, how long you should spend doing each movement, and how often you should do it. It even tells how long after meals except one pose that you can do immediately after eating. All very good information.
I do wish that this was available in Kindle. I'm reading it on my tablet which doesn't have all the Kindle features.
This was a helpful handbook for yogis starting out or who have been practicing for awhile. The review of poses is a helpful way to improve and delve deeper into a yoga practice. The pictures and descriptions were clear and easy to follow. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.
Great format and graphics. I love the timelines as much as I love seeing the step-by-step poses.
A very informed book that teaches you how to practice yoga in order to attain better results. A good read for anyone who does yoga
A very well researched and illustrated guide to yoga with history of Yoga as well as descriptions of poses and health information. I found this book very informative and improved my Yoga practice. I enjoyed learning more about the history and using the illustrated guide to poses. Very well done.
Excellent book. Extensive detail and information on the selected poses. Probably more aimed at beginners but if you want to put your own practise together this is an excellent companion book. I think it will really help you ensure you have got the poses right and don't cause yourself any unnecessary injuries. Excellent illustrations and easy to read. Thank You
This book is a must own for anyone is interested in the practice of yoga. It would be a great companion to learning for students and teachers of yoga. The level of detail is just right, not too wordy, so can be used whilst actually practising the positions, but wordy enough to give the detail needed to gain a deeper understanding.
It had the feeling of an encyclopedia, the images helped the reader to see the correct alignment of positions, whilst the text explained it, in a factual way that was easy to understand.
As an aspiring yoga teacher I will be purchasing this book
I would recommend this book 100% to someone who is beginning yoga. It really goes through the different asanas, etc. in great detail.
Excellent book with great poses and explanations. Still working my way through it.
