Advance Praise
"It presents very basic, Bible-based definitions of love: 'Love is generous. It celebrates the joys of others.' These simple admonitions are designed for parent/child interactions and easy lessons, and lend especially well to introductory discussions about love, affection, and giving, and Biblical teachings.
"One of the delights in this particular message is that it takes time to review all the behaviors that demonstrate love, from patience and acceptance to enduring hardships and believing in the best for all.
"This message is critical for helping young learners form ethical and moral foundations of behavior towards others, and goes beyond the idea of romantic attraction alone.
"The result is a warm, lovely picture book that crafts a delicate life lesson that hopefully will take early root to live in young reader's hearts as they mature."

What a sweet book! All about Love, this book has beautiful illustrations and simple but meaningful text to convey the meaning of love, as found in 1st Corinthians 13. The illustrations followed owls as they went about their days in a beautiful woods. The book made me take a deep breath and remember all the good and beautiful things in the world.
Would be a great book for a baby shower, to read around Valentine's Day, or to have on your shelf to read whenever your child needs a hug from a book.
Thanks to #Netgalley for my digital ARC of #Love
What a great cute and adorable book for child. Seriously I read this with my niece she's 3 years old and she thought the pictures were adorable. Each one she kept pointing out the animals and she even tried to sound out some of the words with me as I pointed to them. Will definitely be purchasing this book for her. What a great message!
Love this book; the illustrations are sweet and charming. I'm confident that young children will love it. What a warm and wonderful way to introduce or to continue to introduce the scriptures to young ones. Good classroom book or good bedtime book. Bravo!!!
Love is generous. It celebrates the joys of others.
Inspired by the well known marriage scripture on love 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 what is love. With the wise owl, father owl shares the truths of this passage with his little owl. God is wisdom which translates to God is love. The illustrations are pleasing with the simple truths of love. Highly recommend.
A special thank you to Casey Rislov Books and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review
The pictures in this book are amazing, I love the message about love. This book will be added to the library.
I love the concept of this book and I think it's a really good and simple way to discuss 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 with children as they start their walk with God and also to discuss the importance of love. It's a really beautiful story.
This book is filled with pictures that beautifully and colorfully illustrate the text. Though basic, the text is profound and biblical, and the illustrations will bring its meaning to life. The book is best for PreK through about grade 1. I highly recommend for younger audiences.
What a sweet, lovely little book. The beautiful illustrations and familiar text tell a story beyond the words alone. I can imagine many young children who would enjoy this touching look at love. .
Love by Casey Rislov is a cute little book about love. I love the pictures and the words. I read it to my 3 month old granddaughter and she seemed like it was short enough for her to enjoy. I will definitely purchase for her.
Love is a very cute Children’s book about love. Each page describes love in a short, simple sentence.
Rachael Balsaitis did an excellent job with the illustrations. They are very colorful and really add to the book.
Thank you NetGalley and Casey Rislov Books for Love.
This is a beautiful book with a wonderful message. It’s about love and it’s endurance. Each page has one sentence, so it is a quick read. It also makes no mention of religion or god even though it is labeled as a Christian book. Therefore this book would be a led to be used at school as well.
A heartwarming depiction of Love. This version of the popular scripture passage on Love, is beautifully illustrated to show little ones examples of loving others.
This is a sweet little book and would be great for parents to read with their children. The illustrations go well with the story and show what love looks like. Highly recommend this to parents of toddlers and preschoolers.
This is a children's picture book that would be suitable for a baby or toddler so that they can learn about love and kindness. The book has lovely text and illustrations about 2 owls who are loving and kind to each other. My daughter and I enjoyed this book very much.

First Corinthians in soft nurturing visual depictions. Loved the light hearted family nature of the book.
A charming, gem of a picture book that is sure to delight both the young and the old. Quick, cute, and packs a lovely message.
Cute story using 1 Corinthians 13 to explain a parent's love for their child. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers.
Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to review this book for my honest opinion.
This book just made me cry the whole time. It has illustrations based on the love described in the Bible, and I loved all of it. This is a heartwarming book with beautiful illustrations of animals.
"Love" by Casey Rislov is a retelling of the famous bible passage from Corinthians that is used commonly at weddings. "Love is Patient, Love is Kind." The book uses the passage and then rewords it to make it more accessible for young readers. The illustrations are beautiful and although the book is short, it is sweet and a great read for families. I would recommend this one to families with very young kids or new readers.
Translating a simple and famous verse into an illustrated book for young readers, Casey Rislov amplifies a timeless description of love. In this adaptation of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, the phrases of the original verse are paired with stunning, neutral-toned illustrations full of enough detail to encourage lingering on every page.
Particularly impressive is the way Rachael Balsaitis’s illustrations highlight the activity present in the original verses; love is many things, but it also does just as much. Her images each depict anthropomorphized owls doing something together: playing hide-and-seek, reading, flying kites. Love, both in life and in this book, isn’t passive. It’s active. Although the individual images are in many ways divorced from the text, a potentially jarring distraction emphasized by the strange text-image borders, the overall message of the text and images still complement each other beautifully.

Love is an adorable little book about owls demonstrating the many different ways that we can show love to each other. This book can help teach that "love" is not just a word but rather an action that we can take to prove it to each other every day. This book is geared towards very young readers with simple but effective language, accompanied by beautiful illustrations. It is very colorful as well, which makes it look very cheery.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy in exchange for an honest review!
This is such a sweet story of love told in the purest form for very young readers to relate to and understand. The sentences are simple and repetitive which are great for beginner readers.
I love how warm and detailed the illustrations are, however, I was expecting more of a correlation between the illustration and the verse. One example would be the "Love is generous" page - I would have imagined an illustration more to do with sharing or giving. Also, I would match the book typeface to the cover typeface and possibly change the color to black.
Overall, this is a great story of love and all its attributes and serves as a good reminder for any adult reading the story with their child. I would recommend this book and purchase it for my 8 month old son.
Love by Casey Rislov is a beautiful short read perfect for small children. It's an illustrated version of the most famous verses on love found in the Bible (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) but shown in a practical way, and all within the context of family relationships. The illustrations are really cute, and its depicted characters are bound to make kids and adults alike identify to them in some way.
My only reason for not giving it a full 5 stars is because I think the blend between the text space and the illustration could have been smoother, but otherwise, I know this book will be a beautiful addition to a growing print collection.
Simple elements of the verses from 1 Corinthians are sweetly paired with warm illustrations of owls and other woodland creatures. Suitable for preschool and early grades, each page has just one simple sentence in a repetitive pattern perfect for emerging readers. The peaceful tone makes this a great bedtime story as well.

A new look at the old psalm, in a new and beautiful way that make teach young children scripture, text to sound, and has a bright a cheery look to it .
I received an electronic ARC from Casey Rivlov Books through NetGalley.
Rislov takes young readers through I Corinthians 4 verses to show how special love is. The illustrations are charming and show this owl family enjoying life together. This is a sweet book that would make a great baby shower gift for Christian friends.
Short, Sweet, & Perfect as a babyshower add on gift! The illustrations seems a little bit dated but the messages was simply delivered & perfect for a bedtime story with your littles. A great addition to any home library.
While this picture book is inspired by a bible verse in Corinthians, it is accessible to all. Love is patient, love is king, and love is fully well illustrated in this book.
First of all, I need to say that the illustrations were just so wholesome and stunning. It kind of reminded of old school books (or at least the ones I used to read when I myself was a kid).
I did not know this book was based on a passage from the Bible.
As I am not religious myself, I was able to ignore that as the statements on love are universal, in my opinion at least.
A good book to have, and a good reminder for everyone, big and small!
Thank you Netgalley for giving me access to this book in exchange for an honest review!
