Perfect book to use when planning itineraries to include some art treasures and sculptures on your travels around the world. Some familiar locations and galleries but also some lesser known and possibly more likely to get missed. Well researched and I have actually been to a few of the authors choices, lots more on my list now. If you like art and travel then you will love this book and refer to it for years to come. Thank you #NetGalley for the copy to review.

3.5 stars rounded up.
Amazing Art Adventures provides an overview of 400 arty experiences from around the world. The book is divided into sections by continent and includes locations in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania, though the largest section by far is Europe. Each page of the book has a couple different locations, some with accompanying photos and some without. I do wish that more of the locations had images included. As I was reading I found that I read the full captions for the locations with photos and skimmed the ones without, so I wish there had been more photos.

I was pleasantly surprised at how many of the U.S. and European locations I have been to. It made me feel cultured and well traveled. There were a couple place I’ve been, like The Vigeland Park in Oslo, that I was surprised did not make the cut. I was thrilled to see that the Spiral Jetty received a page unto itself (I’m a Utah girl and live a couple hours from the jetty). The book added a couple places like the Rothko Chapel in Houston to my bucket list and reiterated my need to visit a few places like the Picasso Museum in Malaga. Overall the book would be a fun coffee table book, but it would be extremely difficult to plan a vacation with it as your guide.

Thank you to NetGalley, Quatro Publishing Group, and Frances Lincoln for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
